Barcelona: Charged with corruption .... again!

And you are in the position to judge his warmup routine from home, watching a cut video from a known barca hate outlet? Given his career and his age, I find that statement pretty arrogant. I believe that by now, he knows exactly what his body needs to get match ready. And by the way, such videos never show a full picture. He could have done more before or after. All in all, a shameful behaviour towards a club legend in my eyes.

Calling him piquenbauer here is anything but respect. I know about the origin of his nickname, but that doesn't make it better to use it in this fashion. It's on the same level as those whistles yesterday in my opinion.

Obviously I judge his warm-up. Because I know how a professional player should warm up and that's a shame.

You say he knows his body needs. That is why he said a few years ago in an interview that he sleeps only 4 hours a day. They see him eating junk food and drinking beer.
Poor eating habits, little rest and training during years of low level.
That's where his decline comes from.

A club must be serious, if any player breaks the rules of conduct he must be sanctioned, if he continues in that behavior then he must be dispensed with. As important as he is.

The sooner you guys get rid of Busquets and Pique the sooner you can truly start your rebuild.

Everything seems to indicate that at the end of this season neither of them will be there. Busquets contract ends and Piqué must play 35% of the games to renew automatically.

This guy is going through a hard time. His family life is shattered, his ex wants to take his children away to the united states. His privacy is also non existent anymore after the breakup. An army of "journalists" follow him everywhere. Millionaire or not, there is always a human behind the mask.
And now even culers, fans of a team he gave half his life for, post videos from marca, a known "barca hate" outlet. Wouldn't be the first time if they cut a video in the "right moments" to support some ridiculous allegation. In my opinion, the hate he is getting is pathetic, especially from culers. Shameful whistles yesterday from some "Social Media generation" fans.

You think people are supposed to be sympathetic to this guy because his ex wants to take his children away to the United States? He made a conscious decision to cheat on his partner knowing the possible ramifications for his children. I have no sympathy for him. He has always come across as a total jerk.

As for the culers turning on him - he has seen them do that many times against other players and I don't recall him speaking up against it, even with his lofty position at Barca and the Spain National Team holding sway with supporters.

Piqué's decline has been pretty steep over the last couple of years, he's not exactly a model for a 35 yo player. I don't know what he's doing to get match ready but it's obviously nor working for a while.

Poor sods are gonna lose a load of players who apparently couldn’t contemplate playing for a EL club. That’s two seasons running now, lolz.

At least we were in the knockout rounds last season.

He has been terrible ever since Barcelona stopped monopolising possession. The tiki taka in front of him papered over his deficiencies as a defender. Big mouth on top of being rubbish as well.

And who exactly will barcelona lose?

No-one clearly, because as we all said in the Summer, being a “Champions League team” means absolutely nothing, it’s all a load of nonsense & players don’t decide their future on things that cannot be controlled, or things that might only be true (like in the case of Barca two years running), until October of that same year.
Didn’t stop the Barca press trying to betlittle United as some little Europa League team that a top player could never consider joining from a CL club like Barca.

It’s all a load of shite, players join new clubs and remain at clubs for many reasons, not least the faith in the current manager or project.

Anyway, welcome down off that high horse, let’s hope it’s a Barca/United final.

After all their shenanigans this summer this truly brings a smile to my face. Hasta la vista, baby!

They can beat us all they want in the EL but this is wonderful. Enjoy EL, Frenkie :)

Commiserations to all Barca fans and weirdly some Madrid fans who would be disappointed seeing them go out after their reaction on here post Inter.

Shame on me, didn't get the sarcasm. Don't take spanish tabloits seriously. They talk most of the time bs, because they make a living with such headlines. It's just modern sports journalism that tries to polarize every topic to create drama, which sells better.
This year's cl was brutal for us. We got one of the hardest groups with Bayern and Inter. We even played better than Bayern, but were too bad to score. Against Inter, we didn't get a clear penalty in both games and our 3 best defenders got injured in the most crucial moment. We would never have conceded 3 goals at home with Araujo, Christensen and Kounde instead of Roberto, Pique and Garcia.
We didn't play badly in those games, just forgot how to score in Munich and Mailand and had bad luck with injuries against Inter. But the trend is very positive. Xavi is building good a team. It takes time to get out of the hole Bartomeu dug for us in the last 5 years. Let's see how far we get in the EL this year. I agree, a United-Barca final would be very nice and nostalgic.

The good thing about the CL is, that you can try again in half a year.

I hope it ends with 1991 nostalgia also

Barcelona can still win Liga, Supercopa, Europa League and Copa del Rey and Xavi will have completed a phenomenal season.

Still don't understand why these big clubs bring back former "legend" players as managers/coaches. Will they ever learn that it's almost guaranteed failure. Look at Ole, Lampard, Gerard, Xavi and I'm sure there are others. I'm sure there is a chance of success but it's very small. It's mind boggling......

Yes, and Pique's golden boot is still very much on. Season's just started, really.

They are building a good team but aren't they still digging deeper with all those big money signings this year and not surviving the CL now? Always felt like these lot continued to put all their eggs in one basket.

So they sold their future to try and secure their present by spending an insane amount of money to end up where they didn’t want to be. Some clubs never learn! Couldn’t happen to a nicer club

You’ve morgaged yourself for this squad. With your lever nonsense you will have less money than you did last summer to spend. There is no building, you clearly built this squad for immediate success. You can’t gaslight yourselves into thinking you’re now in a rebuilding process

They're in a lot of trouble off the pitch. I can see them selling the entire club to a PSG or City type owner soon.

The club I admired as a kid, never had a sponsor on its shirt. They've sold their soul to the devil on recent years and they're now such an unlikeable football club.

It's a young team and all they need is a replacement for Busquets at this point. They're really not in as bad a position as you think. The fecking cnuts.

That's why we laugh so hard at them right now, chances are they'll be no joke next year

Doesn't look a particularly young team out there tonight
