He has a great name = good signing!
what is he, Pizza?
Something like that. Feyenorod Technical director and Van Gaal are friends, have worked together in Holland.

But surely only if we secure CL football, and as of now that's nowhere near a given.Seems Louis may have a partnership of Laporte and Hummels in mind long term. Can't argue with that to be fair.
He also has a top 4 finish in mind and if he doesn't achieve that he will have more to worry about then bringing in players who might be put off with no CL football, especially if they have other offers on the table from top team with CL football!Seems Louis may have a partnership of Laporte and Hummels in mind long term. Would LvG play Laporte with Rojo considering both are left footed
From what he's said and done so far I very much doubt it.
Agreed. As much as I rate Laporte, I don't see it happening for this reason. LvG clearly rates Rojo, and rightfully so. Rojo has been very good for us, and will only improve.
Laporte is better than Rojo though (despite being a few years younger). If we sign him (which will be for 30+m, then I guess it will be for his to be as a first choice defender). Anyway, commpetition is a good thing and we need two left footed CB.Agreed. As much as I rate Laporte, I don't see it happening for this reason. LvG clearly rates Rojo, and rightfully so. Please make it true. Laporte and a great RCB would be fantastic. The RCB can be anyone from Hummels (yes, I know that he's on bad form, but so is the entire BVB team), Godin and Marquinhos.
Yes. I would be happy if United spend 30m on arguably the best young CB in the world (and undoubdetly, on top 3 young CB).So you're not happy spending £36m on Otamendi, but you're happy spending £30m on Laporte, a centre back who has had a worse season than the former?
Then he offers next to no proper explanation in regards to the Spanish buy out clause and how extracting the player is carried out.
So you're not happy spending £36m on Otamendi, but you're happy spending £30m on Laporte, a centre back who has had a worse season than the former?

Maybe he wants an experienced one and a young one. There might be more changes at the back than even we imagined.Otamendi is not even a upgrade on Rojo to be honest. Rather have Garay, who is more suited to playing in the premier league.
Laporte wouldn't be a bad signing. But I think we need to sign someone with experience.

Laporte would be a great signing, no doubt, although we would still need a seasoned leader in the back - i.e. Hummels.
A defensive constituency of Smalling, Rojo, Jones, McNair, Hummels, and Laporte for next season would be very solid.
Mendes is now his agent which adds to the speculation that we'd be favourites to land him, of course Madrid are well in with Mendes as well.
If ww sign both Laporte and Hummels then only one of Smalling and Jones is needed.Laporte would be a great signing, no doubt, although we would still need a seasoned leader in the back - i.e. Hummels.

Complete overkill imo.
if we could get only one, would you chose Varane or Laporte?
Would much rather sign him than Hummels.
