I'm more confident he'll start against Arsenal than I am in seeing him featured tonight.

I'd love to see him start alongside Maguire tonight and see what they are like as a partnership. He looked fantastic against PSG, perfectly at home against them.
Lindelof played very well against PSG and Chelsea. I would like to see the partnership with Lindelof continue tonight. Maybe in the EPL games where we have lots of the ball and against opposition that have aerial threat, I wouldn't mind Ole pairing up Tuanzebe and Maguire in that situation. Maguire is too slow on the turn and moreover, that Azpilecueta grab could be a penalty in the CL games. That style of defending worries me a bit.

A bit hard done by not to start but I get it considering he's returning after a long injury.
Yeah, it’s a long season and I’m sure he’ll get plenty of game time. Honestly no need to rush him. Maybe we’ll see him against Arsenal.

Man Utd 5:0 RB Leipzig
I hope Ole doesn't see him as a utility player, should get CB starts in the next two CL games.

He’ll get his games. But right now both Maguire and Lindelof play very well so it’s natural that a new kid needs to fight his way in.

Ole's very careful with him and perhaps rightly so, Leipzig were commiting foul after foul today.

He just need to stay off injuries and he'll get minutes for sure, especially when Bailly is out of equation.

I definitely think he'll get his games, I just hope he gets them at CB.

I hoped he would get a chance to build on one of the most impressive United performances in about 5 years. Hard to quibble when you win 5-0, but Hopefully he gets back in the lineup soon...at CB

didn’t notice him at all at RB today. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, he only has a few minutes. It’s good that he’s coming on and getting minutes. he’s one of only 3 CBs we can trust at the club, and he’s coming back after a long time out - needs easing in. If, and a big if, he can keep fit, he will start with Maguire within a matter of months.

There is not much point in playing him as a RB. At 3-0, he could easily replace Maguire to give him some rest. Bissaka might have needed that too, but in this case why Tuanzebe instead of an actual full back?

We'll want Wan-Bissaka at his best for the weekend because he'll be up against Aubameyang. Tuanzebe's played at RB plenty of times, coming on for the last 15 isn't going to do him any harm.

Does he now come in? Do we change shape again and put him as part of a back three?

He hasnt really played once at CB since that PSG game right? (three games have passed and you can say we only conceded one but I would like to think a top performance would be rewarded). Now obviously the other side is that he came back from injury, but you would like to see some sort of build / momentum.

How has he not gotten a single appearance since the PSG match? Horrible team management.

I’m not expecting him to start every game, but he needs to be in and around the starting lineup.

He played 10-15 minutes against Leipzig but that’s all. It’s strange on one hand, but at the same time Ole is probably searching for stability and then he plays then CB pair that he know work, plus they have been doing well. I’m pretty sure he’ll play CL on Wednesday.

That is Ole. Squad management is dog shit

With Ole persisting with Lindelof and Maguire means that he has to sacrifice an attacking option since he has to play 2 of Mctominay, Fred and Matic. Neither Harry nor Victor are quick enough on the turn and we cannot play a high line with them unless there’s adequate cover. I know Axel’s had his first game after a long layoff but feck this was against Neymar, Mbappe and Di Maria and he came up trumps against them. What does Ole do, benches him in the next 2 games for his “trusted” CB pairing. Lindelof played well against PSG but Maguire is the captain so he has to play - bet the likes of SAF, Wenger and even Klopp don’t share the same view that captain has to play all the time and for the full 90 minutes...

I’m pretty sure Ole would have played McT and Fred also with Tuanzebe on the pitch. He actually did that against PSG.
It can be frustrating, but Ole needs to build stability at the back. Then he can’t really change CB every game. And he can’t really put all trust in building a CB pair where with a player who 1) nobody knows if he’ll stay fit and 2) who put in one good game . It was impressive, but it was only one game, and he hasn’t really shown much before. He has as example only started one PL game as CB.

With that in consideration, I think Ole will play him in cup matches until he has shown he can stay fit and rack up consecutive good performances.

I think he provided defensive cover against PSG because 1) it was PSG and 2) Axel was playing his first game after a year and against PSG.

His performance warranted a start against Chelsea and/Leipzig and he did not get it. Competition for places in a side means when you get your chance and perform well, the player who you replace has to wait their turn. With Ole this logic does not hold water.

Only conceeded 1 penalty since the PSG game. (3 games).
The defence has been solid, so no need to rush him back.

I doubt Ole would have changed the whole setup just because of Axel. Most likely he would have played the same players.

It would have been plain stupid to play Axel a second match within days (Chelsea). Against Leipzig, I was also surprised he didn’t play, but it’s hard to argue when we won 5-0 that Ole should have played Axel instead of someone else. Number one must be getting back on our feet again after a horrible start. Introducing Axel is important but comes further down the list. It is not smart to base the central defence on a player who has been injured on and off just because of one good game. Smarter to play him in cup matches and see how it goes.

I can see why ole would continue to pick lindelof and maguire, their performance levels have picked up and they have looked fairly solid recently

However their lack of pace does seem to drag the team deeper than it should and i think this makes it difficult for us going forward. Playing deep might be tactical / intentional, if so this needs ti change

Istanbul Basaksehir 2:1 Man Utd
Awful performance. All over the place.

He has missed too much football and his development has suffered from it.

Looked a nervous wreck. Stupid foul for his yellow card. Kept either losing headers or failing to make a decent contact.

That, along with the injuries, is my main worry about him. Especially with AWB on his outside who is absolutely terrible at winning anything in the air.

Otherwise I didn't think he was too bad except maybe the yellow card situation. I did miss a few minutes here and there throughout the first half though so maybe I missed some poor moments.

Was impeccable against PSG - tonight he had a nightmare. Maybe that first goal got in his head. all our back 4 were up for the corner, all pissing 4 of them - wow, never seen that before ever.

To me there was no leadership next to him, not his best performance but I am hoping he came off purely because he was on a yellow and not as a scapegoat for El Fridgeo.

There was no cooperation whatsoever in the defence today, but Tuanzebe had a really poor performance individually as well. Was targeted for high longball after longball and struggled every time. He is fast but was positioned poorly today, but when the positioning is poor that does not really help. The weakness in the air is a bit worrying, but the rest is what you one should expect and accept from a player who has played few matches and is under development. Would like to give him a new chance soon, either together with Lindelof or in a 3 at the back.

I don’t think he was subbed because of the general poor performance because then at least 3-4 more players would’ve been subbed. It was because he struggled so with the aerials. But why didn’t he change position with Maguire? Is he limited to RCB?
