Australian Open 2011

So Djoko gets the break in the 3rd set. Can he consolidate this time?

Just hope Nole doesnt get tired or some shit like that so close to winning this.

Djokovic breaks again

Novak chokes at 4-3 and gets broken. 4-4. And he breaks back again and to serve for match. I have absolutely no faith in him serving this out.

You're absolutely ridiculous, every game that Novak has lost is due to choking according to you.

Well played Novak

Unforced errors killed Roger in the match

Well played Djokovic. Federer and Nadal out

4 slams in a row with Federer out before the final. Don't think he can reach that 20 Grand Slam goal he was talking about.

So Novak vs Murray it will be. Come on Novak :D

August 2007 Novak loses the the USO final and in Jan 2008 he beats Fed in straight sets in the semis and wins the Aussie Open.

2 double faults. 40-15 up and he got broken? Federer din't even have to do much to break him in that particular game. And fair enough maybe I put a bit too much blame on him choking at times. My bad.

That Li Na interview has got to be the funniest post-match interview ever.

'BY EDGING her way past Caroline Wozniacki, China's Li Na not only won the biggest match of her life but a whole legion of new fans.

Li's 3-6 7-5 6-3 win was a display in grit, clean hitting and determination.

And perhaps her brief post-match interview did as much as any of the previous two-and-a-half hours.

During that three minutes Li, considered among the larrikins of the women's tour, displayed every ounce of her charisma.

So when she steps onto court in the Australian Open final on Saturday night - against another Aussie favourite in Kim Clijsters - an army of fans are certain to be in her corner.

She told of how she'd had an interrupted night's sleep due to her husband - who is also her coach - and his snoring.

What had kept her going during that sapping third set, Channel Seven interviewer Sam Smith asked.

"Prizemoney," Li said, straight-faced.

Smith then said the win had also coincided with another special day, saying it was Li and her husband's fifth wedding anniversary.

A blank stare from Li.

"It's today?" she said.

On court, the serious expression hid the comedian and competitor inside'

Good to see a final without Fedal for once. Murray Djokovic could be immense.

Djokovic leads their head to head record 4-3 but Murray has won the last 3 meetings but you have to fancy Djokovic because I don't think Murray will be able to handle the pressure knowing this is absolutely his best chance to win a Slam ever.

It's been 3 years since their last match!

It would be great if Ferrer surprises all, and wins this tournament. Poor lad hasn't been even given a chance by anyone.

That would be brilliant wouldn't it? Number 7 comes from nowhere and takes it. Would love it if that happened but there is no way he's going to beat Murray and then Djokovic in the form he is in.

Murray will probably get over-excited about Nadal and Federer being out, and lose to Ferrer. That said, I'll still be backing him to win.

Murray has got a real good chance, if he goes through then i think he might just be fave.

On what basis? Murray has been very very good this tournament but Djokovic has been by far the best player and is yet to drop a set despite playing Berdych and Federer already.

Murray has played one decent opponent in Dolgopolov and dropped a set. If anything Djokovic is the favorite for this which actually might be good for Murray as there'll be less pressure on him.

Djokovic has not been by 'far' the best player.
Although Djokovic has a slam to his name, I think Murray has won more tournaments, certainly more Master tournaments. Head to head it is in favour I think to Djokovic by 4-3 or summink. However, more importantly Murray has twice beaten Djokovic in a Masters final.
But in general I agree that Djokovic is the fav and Murray is by no means certain to make the final so lets see if he makes it first.

There is not one player who has been anywhere as good as Djokovic has been apart from Murray though he's only been really tested in the one match.

Djoko leads the head to head 4-3 but their last match was 3 years back so can't say much. That being said the record in Masters don't really matter much. Murray has a great record vs Fed in Masters Series tournaments but just can't beat him in a Slam. I think Djokovic has greater experience in the Slams and having won one should be favorite. Murray is not that far behind though. Hopefully it's a wonderful 5 setter with Djoko just edging it ;)

fecking cracking result for Djoko and men's tennis in general. We needed a break from the Nadal/Federer domination. As it stand, Djokovic seems to be favourite to take this one.
