Australian Open 2010

Tsonga has no chance, his game plays right into Fed's strengths, you can't just hit the back at such a good height for Fed. He can't get his forward into Fed's backhand and he thinks he can slug it out with Fed by going man o amano. Good luck Murray.

I played a game like this once, it discouraged me from the game forever. I was 16 then, I 14 year old completely literally bruised me on the court. My elbows and knee had blood on them at the end of the game. In short, I hope Tsonga was physically injured before or during the first set or else I fear he might not recover from this beating. It was really sad watching this. Made me wish for Nadal

Busy with work, but I've got a couple weeks off now. Chilling in Bombay. You still in NYC?

You and Espada would love that wouldn't you. Probably have Suresh hide in the closet and film it.

Well Tsonga turned up and forgot he was meant to be playing Tennis, as by looks of it he had accepted defeat already in his head when he walked on the court. Federer couldn't have had an easier semi-final than that in a long time with Tsonga at no time even looking like he was likely to raise his game to put more pressure on Federer.

At least we know Murray will be fired up for Sunday and knows how to get inside Federers head out on the court. So here is to Sunday and the final come on Murray.

I'm starting to really like the guy. He has a very dry sense of homour which is fantastic, and just overall seems like a top lad. Love his interviews with Courier after the matches

The interviews when he and Robson were playing doubles together were great. They were both just having digs at each other, Robson looks like a good prospect, into the final of the girls event with ease and already beaten women nearly 400 rankings spots higher than her.

She's pretty good now, hopefully she'll keep that going and be even better when she's stopped growing.

830 GMT, I think.

430 am here, my girl works til then so im between picking her up and coming home to watch it or not picking her up, recording it, and watching it a bit later.

It sucks that United play only a few hours later, going to be a good day hopefully.

Murray can do it but in fairness Federer is just an unbelievable player. He can win this no problem when you consider his experience. The expectations on MUrray are extreme, if he can just focus he'll give the great swiss a run for his money but my fear is that Federer is so at ease on the grandest stage and with nothing to prove and no nerves playing a part he can just go out and play his game with ease. That is the scary thing for Murray as Federer when relaxed and in form is just unreal...

I think there's a bit more pressure on Federer than normal for this one. Firstly there's the fact that there seems to be no love lost between himself and Murray. Then there's the fact that the last few times they've played, Murray's looked very comfortable.

If Murray can stay with him for the first couple of sets, and get to 1-1, I think Federer may start to get slightly worried. He's an outstanding player, but in the quite a few of the slam finals he's been in in the last couple of years, he's found it difficult to get over the line. Against Nadal in Sydney last year he should have closed out a clearly struggling Nadal, but he tightened up enough to allow the momentum to swing. In France he did well, but at Wimbledon, he was in trouble against Roddick. Had the volley gone in at set point for Roddick in the second, I think it was a very long way back. Even in the final set it was coming down to Roddick's mistakes as much as Federer's brilliance, and that deep in the fifth, his experience showed. At the US last year he had Del Potro beaten when he slowed down, and allowed Del Potro to play himself into unstoppable form. He became passive, IMHO, and that was enough to put him into difficulty.

So all-in-all, though Murray's starting as the underdog, this isn't Federer at his best, and he can be beaten. If Murray can keep his second serve solid and play himself into points, then he's got every chance.

Here's hoping it's a great match.

Federer's a smug prick, not only do I hope Murray wins, but I hope he smashes him in 3. Wont happen mind.

They're both smug pricks, in fairness, and i'm a huge Murray fan... They have a silent cockiness about them.

So Federer has made 23 consecutive grand slam semi-finals and 18 out of the last 19 finals. He stands alone in the history of men's tennis.

Being a Brit I usually wanted Henman to win but I just can't get behind Murray. Not sure if it is his personality or his game style. I would probably try and support him if he was playing anyone else but being a massive Federer fan I hope Fed wins. If Fed plays his best he will win imo but if he is a little off like at the beginning against Davydenko, then Murray could do it. Should be a good game.

During one of the changeovers Serena will just walk over to Henin and swallow her whole, thereby winning by default. Only to be disqualified when she's finally proven to be a man.

Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition says otherwise... I think she's actually kind of fit away from the harcourt/clay/grass

Serena has won it.

And then crickets

I almost want to root for Murray just to go against elvis but I wont

Murray got to calm down the nerves.
Has he ever beaten Fed in best of 5 before?
Good, Murray breaks back. Good game this so far.

First game murray had chances to break but couldn't convert them, follows it up with a very poor service game to be broken then breaks right back in the 3rd impressively.
