Australia tour of India - 4 tests

Well its official steve o'keefe is the best spinner in the world

But seriously i honestly never expected this from him

Utter humiliation. Serves the ones jumping around with 4-0 wankfest before the series had begun.

Pathetic character shown here. They basically threw the game away the moment Kohli went for a duck.

First innings was bad. Second innings was diabolical!

Won't be easy in Bangalore either, I expect Starc to be a handful here.

If anything this shows just how pathetic England are to get whitewashed by this Indian team.

Agree, should have played better. Just shows if your spinners bowl consistently you will get wickets. O'Keefe isn't a massive spinner of the ball but bowled consistantly. Not mant bad balls. England spinners were not good enough.

We should not be playing on rank turners. Our batsmen are clueless against spin. They've showed that in the past.

Wow Australia!! When was the last time India were bowled out so cheaply in both innings in India?

Probably 2012 against England. I think we were embarrassed in the 2nd and 3rd test matches.

2nd match: 327 and 142
3rd match: 316 and 247

So, not really low scores.

I remember SA in 2008 (Ahmadabad) - 1st match, we got bowled out for 70 odd when SA scored 500.

Or then, 2004 against Australia in Mumbai where we defended 103. Think we got 200 and 93 in that match.

Feck, is the game over? WTF  here's a feck you to all the ex indian players who predicted a white wash. Just a bad match. Hopefully India still will win the series.

India will come back into it -- it's been a unusually long home summer for India and I think they're going to be below their best. Still expect the series to go 2-1 or 3-1.

Australia are better than England in these conditions, I think. You just need 2-3 good batsmen(Smith and Warner here) and a supporting cast. For bowling, you need 4 decent ones at least and Australia have those. I don't know about O'Keefe but England have no one close to Lyon's level. Likes of Ali are just a buffet -- took wickets but never when it mattered.

Didn't watch the game due to classes (thankfully) but going by the internet it seems it was a case of taking people lightly. Our bowlers probably thought that this Aussie batting unit besides smith isn't particularly great vs spin and thought that o'keefe and Lyon aren't very threatening either.

Even against NZ and England, we were bailed out many times with the bat by Kohli, Ashwin Jadeja and J Yadav. Our middle order were inept and the lack of trying from NZ and England helped us.

the pitch was horrible but I don't think it's a good sight when we lose the game in a spinning pitch at home with the best spin duo in our team being outperformed with the ball by Umesh Yadav and the likes

Also, have to say, Smith getting a century on this surface against the likes of Ashwin and Jadeja shows why he's the best test batsman in the world. He had a bit of luck but that was a remarkable innings.

Umesh, as much as I don't like him, bowled well. Ashwin and Jadeja bowled reasonably well. It is our batting that let us down.

First innings maybe we should've wrapped them up for 200, but 250 is not that outrageous a score. The pressure started to build after we got knocked over for 100. That is where the fault is.

Oz are good enough tho avoid a whitewash. 3-0 or 2-1 to India imo

Nice one Dick. 3-0 is soooo much better than 4-0 wankfest.

Smith's 100 bettered India's entire innings total in either innings lol

Easily his best 100 to date.

Post match Kohli was seriously pissed off - best thing about him...he almost never ever makes an excuse. He didn't make an excuse for the team or himself (said, he made a poor decision with the 2nd innings dismissal).

Equally - he was willing to have a bit of perspective. India were unbeaten in something like 18-19 tests (:lol) - so, unlike some in the media...he wasn't going to bite peoples heads off.

Still expect India to win the series 2-1.

It's pleasant to read his interviews.

Previously, we'd get smacked 4-0 and listen to some bizarre alternate reality press conference from Dhoni about "processes going well" and things like that. The previous regime took itself too seriously. People want to read a simple analysis of what went wrong and Kohli's been very balanced.

Having said that, I imagine there are some places under scrutiny. Good forms of 2-3 batsmen + lower order contributions has masked deficiencies in the top order. Some players like Rahane, Rahul and Vijay now need to find consistency.

I reckon they'll leave thing alone at least for the next test.

You know very well...if Kohli wins the next toss, and India piles on 500 runs (like they've done so often at home in the last 2 years)...Australia will be struggling to survive.
