95-7
It won't. Not a chance. I am now worried how much I will get to watch tomorrow at stadium. Probably match will end somewhere in 3rd session tomorrow at this rateBetter not rain in Pune over the coming days.
94/3 to 105 all out. Well done. Based on cricinfo commentary, there wasn't much special in deliveries. Indians are just not use to fighting it out at home.
The pitch was turning so much they didn't need to be anything special in the deliveries. Don't like pitches like these as they heavily favor whoever wins the toss.
If matches last for 3 days toss is pretty much irrelevant.
I'm loving this pitch. Nothing like a good old raging turner with batsmen looking perennially perplexed.
Australia can't play spin, but neither can India so to see.
Didn't they recently get whitewashed by Sri Lanka?
This is an under-rated Australian team, imo.
The 2nd spinner is a weak link, but everything else is good.
Renshaw is a plodder -- be interesting to see how he goes. Warner and Smith are excellent. Mitch Marsh is the one weak link in the top 6.
Australia has won the toss. Aus need 400 on the board if Australia is any hope of winning the match.
AUS all out for 260. Don't think that's enough but we're going to find out.
If Australia need to get some positives from these test matches then they have to rely on the pace attack rather looking at their spin and need to strike early like one happening now, once ball gets old and it come to middle or late middle order it would be even contest, whoever does best with the condition survives.
O'Keefe has been better than Lyon for quite a while now and constantly overlooked. Arguably our best spinner in first class cricket in Australia for quite some time now. He has 220+ wickets @23 in Australia. A strike rate of 56 and a batting average of 30. It's a damn shame that he is 32 and now only getting a real chance. His bowling avg in first class cricket betters even Warne's 26 btw.
As for Renshaw being a plodder, 184 on debut.....I'll take that plodder on most days.
Every commentator was saying the pitch was horrendous and was par for around 200-250. With 250 being the top end. We collapsed but anyone watching the damn test match could tell this pitch was going to do no favours the longer the test went on and that India were not going to have it easy. Starc's innings put us ahead at the end of day 1.
Again did people not actually watch the play and how terrible the pitch was or listen to any commentary? I thought it was more than enough.
Our spinners are very good, we aren't England ffs. O'Keefe criminally underrated again see above. Gaza ain't no slouch either. Hazlewood and Starc did well to cut the head off the snake early and build pressure, O'keefe swapping sides was the game changer. Just glad he is getting a proper chance to show the world how good he is and has been for a long time now. As I said already it should of been 5 years ago not now.
Reading these comments in retrospect show how little anyone on this board knows about Australian cricket. S. Marsh was chosen because of his ability to play spin. Usman as much as I love him is terrible against spin, but if the pitches get flatter expect him to come back. M. Marsh on the the other hand is the eternal promise, everyone thought he would be the next best all rounder, but with his dad in his corner no matter how shit he has been he won't be dropped any time soon although he probably should be.
No they are not Englan anyway, in general we are good players of left arm spinners,O'Keefe bowled really well to get his 6 Wkts but also I noted that our batsmen going down for some flashy shots to loose their wickets ,we can find him how good he is at the end of the season.O'Keefe has been better than Lyon for quite a while now and constantly overlooked. Less than half the stadium is full. Manjrekar - great crowd in, as you can expect on a Saturday
Did I overestimate it by 50 overs?Ffs it's turning square and bouncing unpredictably we're not lasting 100 overs on this
