Their takeover will be sorted by then.Chelsea can't even sign anyone this summer I thought?

They could play both. He'd be a downgrade on Fabinho imo.
They got Camavingha, not sure how he would fit into the system especially with the evergreen Modric and Kroos doing bits. I think Pogba could also land up there on a free. The club needs to try and put up a fight and not just roll over and let him go to Madrid.

I hope Tchouameni is the statement signing of the new era. The midfield must be the priority.
He should be our number 1 priority, sadly I can see Madrid, Bayern, PSG and other ahead of us in his priority list.
Currently a better player but perhaps with a lower ceiling. How does he compare to last summers crush Camavinga?

He's more of a DM than Camavinga looked, and Camavinga is a DM.Didn’t one of ligue 1 fans came here before and said that he’s not a DM?
I think Rennes fan came here and said that Camavinga’s first full season in 19/20 played as a DM but moved to CM in 20/21. The Rennes fan said his 19/20 season was better than 20/21.He's more of a DM than Camavinga looked, and Camavinga is a DM.

They don't need him.I still think he'll go to Liverpool.
Then it would difficult for us to get him,CL spot hanging, we need multiple positions to fill , tricky.Chelsea letting go of Jorginho in the summer and looking to replace Kante
He doesn't play DM for Monaco, that's not to say someone may view his skillset as ideal for another team as a DM. @Adnan did a good post of what his skills are and why it would make him a good DM.Didn’t one of ligue 1 fans came here before and said that he’s not a DM?

The same way Delph wasn't a left back or Trent originally wasn't a RB, it depends on how the team is set up and what they can bring to the position in the view of the manager, who has a clear view of what each position should do.

Think that might have been JP, but yeah - we'll hopefully be set up completely differently anyway.Ok good to hear that we are targetting a player that would make him a good DM. I think I remember you or someone else the one who came here and warned us that United fans will be disappointed when they see Tchouameni is not actually a DM. Let me read Adnan's post.
It's up to how ETH wants to set up, but I think you'll probably be proved right. We don’t need a DM. We need functionality midfielders for a pivot. He fits that.
This would sadden me given just how much he could change our midfield fortunes at United but I wouldn't be surprised.
He's been linked to them heavily for a while now and they still have arguably the biggest pull in football.
Until someone like Felix Diaz reports it though I'll still hold out a sliver of hope
Valverde is impossible. He recently renewed and has the highest clause in the team (one billion).Cheeky bid for Valverde if they sign Tchouameni. They are then packed with midfield options, and with World Cup in winter, perhaps gametime would be an interesting negotiation bargain?
Care to deepen you statement? Why would such a talented young player not help us in challenging for a title? Please do not, I don't want him anywhere close to us if we're going to challenge for the title.

It never seems to work out like that thoughWow Tchouameni and Camavinga is some midfield for the future.
I thought we supposedly now had a structure where the DoF etc chooses the players, not the manager?
I’m not going to trust the opinion of someone who can’t even spell Houssem Aouar’s surname correctly and uses it as their username. Please do not, I don't want him anywhere close to us if we're going to challenge for the title.
I’d love to hear this French football expert explain why.Care to deepen you statement? Why would such a talented young player not help us in challenging for a title?

And thirdly, no DOF on the planet would disagree with the signing of this guy if the manager wants him. I've got to imagine that Rangnick, Murtough and ETH are all singing from the same hymn sheet on this one.First Laurens is a fraud. Secondly it depends on the relationship and trust that the DoF has, what a DoF is definitely going to do is identify targets based on team needs and when he has a list of players that he likes, he can ask the opinion of the head coach in order to know which player he prefers. For example if Murtough has a list that includes, Tchouaméni, Rice, Laimer or Phillips, he can ask ETH's opinion.
if we are being strongly linked with Kalvin Phillips from Leeds then it's a good chance we see the writing on the wall for this kid
Doubt itPhillips it is then.
