I think it is much simpler to bar people from using money they don't have.
Indeed. I think Pires and Llungberg are both still underpriced. Pires was a great player. Ljungberg too. But agree, unless someone takes one off me, one will have to be benched.
I proposed the same before and it will definitely work as the caps come into place oncly after 12 hours of open bidding. Make sure you get your bids right in those 12 hours. Still you have 5 more bids to get your player in next 12 hours. The cap is to prevent 1m bids from continuously happening. It also has a distinct advantage over time bound deadline (bidding seconds before time line and cannot bid due to time zone etc)
I was kind of hoping MJJ might try and just....out bid me.
This is not going work Pol.
Supposes someone buys Messi for 140m and does not have money for it. The second bidder refuses since he spent it on someone as well
So by all account that player got Messi banned from the draft for a loss of 10m. Sounds like a great plan for someone who gets a big player like Ronaldo
Throwing him to the pool also does not help since many teams would have exhausted funds to buy such a player. It penalizes players who want to play the draft properly.
Like you would be sad to get Ronplease outbid me.
please outbid me.
No it would ruin the whole draftThat would actually be quite clever. Take a bow son and fair fecks if you pulled it off.
Like you would be sad to get Ron
Thought Stobz was playin it safe this round with 2 x 10m picks and then out of the blue 101m on Ronaldo
No it would ruin the whole draft
F that. I'm spending another 80 on Ibra, at least.Only has 20m per player left for 9 positions though.
It runs it because stupid strategic plays will trump proper team buildingNah, it would just mean Messi doesn't get to play. Far from draft-ruining, certainly didn't ruin the last one.
Agree 100%. Instead of overspending and then selling it is much simpler to simply not allow any manager to exceed the maximum budget, basically leaving the amount that is 10 multiplied by the number of players he still needs always in his account.I think it is much simpler to bar people from using money they don't have.
TBH, I was thinking he was playing too safe. Two meh wingers would mean he really REALLY had to make up for it elsewhere. This is much better and it actually opens shit up with big-spending MJJ now able to reconsider Figo or Nedved
@crappycraperson won't be okay to bid above your budget. You should be punished for it severely.
Also what do you guys think of me starting the vote for the next position? All votes will be changeable at any times just @ my name and I will change it/include your vote.
They won't be decided in a long time of course.
Would be a good challenge to see if Ibra/Ronaldo can offset Miller,Bebe,Dia,etcF that. I'm spending another 80 on Ibra, at least.
Infact that scenario is not fair to the person who was second highest bidder as well.
Since he mostly likely would have bought someone else as replacement and won't have cash either to match his earlier bid or get into another bid war for the player
It would introduce unnecessary strategic plays which would reward luck in the end.
Imagine Messi gets thrown back into the pool due to it and someone buys him for 40m. That's not fair to the other managers because of bad play of one.
Next round -
Strikers - Crappy

Knowing which round goes next has huge tactical implications. i wouldn't mix shit up like that.
How does Messi get banned?
Any team can still bid for him at the starting price of 10 m. If many teams have exhausted their funds, someone could pick Messi on the cheap, hardly a great plan for the guy with Ronaldo to sabotage the Messi bid
But how it fair for someone who paid 80m for FatRonaldo that someone else could get Messi for 40m because someone made a bid for him he can't fulfill
Almost everyone playing agrees with me that you should not allow players to use money they don't have
But wouldn't it be better not to allow people to bid for a player unless they have the money to do so? A lot simpler and avoids the complications involved in selling, or throwing it back to the pool. How does Messi get banned?

Love the knock on effect, just as i thought it was all settling down. MJJ reacted rightaway and lookin forward now to see what Viva does
Aye, I reckon he is better off with the current duo and cost. Mind, it means Ronnie right which isn't what people favour, that's why I was thinking about the other two.
If I were playing right now I would certainly bid for Giggs-Nedved
