Is it to do with R Kelly's Hip-Hopera?

I really hope so.

Incidentally R Kelly means 'that' in Portuguese (well, phonetically)...I had a lot of fun pointing at things and saying "I want R Kelly"....and when I say "a lot of fun" I mean my own very slight internal amusement.

Wrote this in the Evra thread about 5 days ago I believe. Do we now think it could actually have something to do with the Vidal "deal" or offer? I actually think it would be better to just settle in cash purely as we wouldn't be able to get a back up left back at Pat's level for less than 10-15 million.

If they want Evra give them Evra. I would sooner go into next season without a back up left back and Vidal than a back up left back and no vidal.

Well.. If we get a few interesting updates (the kind that sends this place into a frenzy) along the way yet we keep getting strung along till July 31st it could be a mammoth thread. But yeah, 1000 is a little far fetched huh?
500 would be a proud target, but the updates have to be very interesting.

If you'd have asked me at the start of the summer which player I would most like us to sign, regardless of realism, it would probably have been Vidal. We can't sign him can we? Can we???

2 pages since yesterday?

It's over, pack it in.

I take it the Daily Star article is drawing from the below Gazetta story...

THE MANCHESTER UNITED - Who came out of the closet was definitely Manchester United, who begins to shake up the market this summer at shots millionaires. In recent days, in fact Van Gaal has defined the purchase of Herrera and even to Shaw at a cost of around 40 million. The re-founding of the United Netherlands, however, is only at dawn: for weeks, Van Gaal is monitoring developments in the Chilean Juventus and he did follow in this first part of the World Championship in Brazil (injuries permitting). Now would be a first offer ready to be submitted to Juventus: the British press about a "substantial" part in cash (Juventus wants to obtain between 40 and 45 million) plus the inclusion of a welcome counterpart to Antonio Conte. The name circulating is to Dwarves.

But more importantly, it's the Daily Star.

I don't know how anyone could possibly draw anything from that story. Something about Dwarves coming out of the closet?

They seem to want Dwarves rather than Evra:eek::nervous:

as much as i like vidal i'll be damned if we have to part with any of our precious dwarves in return.

Of course.. We could always play Kagawa or Young there.

We'll go wild wild wild

I would be highly surprised if we did not sign a left footed centre back who could then do a job as a left back if needed. I would also be surprised if we were unable to sign a decent back up left back on loan if needed or unable to promote somebody or Louis was unable to figure out a solution.

Vidal is worth more to us than Evra.

Don't quite understand the white text.

Was an ode to Moyes' passion for playing certain players out of position

This thread should be locked until something actually happens, or it'll end up just like the Thiago one last summer.

If it gets some good information(a twitter reference or a picture from Vidal), it'll explode. Only then could it become as big as the Thiago debacle.

In the classics?

Thanks to Olly and Jeston it ended up in the classics, not because of endless in depth discussion about things that might materialise. It was highly annoying and that thread was locked a few times if I remember correctly.

That's the sort of annoying over-modding you'd expect from RAWK. If people want to talk shit what's the harm? It's the transfer forum after all, it's 99% talking shit.

There's no harm, but that Thiago thread did get out of hand, hence why it was locked a few times. I just hope that this one doesn't end up the same, that's all. Nothing has happened at all, yet the thread is being bumped quite often.

No way this deal will rest on Evra, if it did then sadly he would have to go, but just don't see it.

More likely they just don't want to sell and understandably so too, or want a huge fee that we are reluctant to match, and want Evra as the cream on top but aren't too bothered.

Well no, no we can't. The guy loves Conte to bits, crediting him with changing the way he sees the entire game for the better. He also has tattoos which specifically show support to Juventus. He also is guaranteed like 3 scudetti at least before Juventus even have one serious challenger in Italy. He also turned down Bayern becuase - and here's another point - he's convinced Juventus will be winning the CL anytime soon. He's pretty much exactly the player any club on earth would want to have, but he's as committed as a delusional, drug-addled psychopath. Even if we bid like £70m and Juve accepted, I'd be surprised if Vidal moved away.

He probably is the best midfielder on the planet right now. Certainly the best box-to-boxer at least. Because of that, it's no surprise we're linked with him, especially given our quick actions last weeks. If we do sign another midfielder - and I personally am not 100% convinced we will or maybe even should - they'll probably be a back 4 shield type player anyway. Herrera does a bit of everything and cost £28m, and we've got loads of players who like to play in between the midfield line and the striker(s) already.

All well and good with the tweets and news/rumours guys, but have we taken permission from the deluded morons at that Juventus forum? Clearly Vidal won't leave Juventus unless they allow?

That would be sweet, we get Vidal while Arsenal/Liverpool miss out on Sanchez

So this man can be the Caf's muppet God?

It all sounds logical to me. I've wondered why Juve have suddenly dropped their Sanchez interest. I've said it before in this thread, if Vidal is sold it would be because Juve needs cash to fund other deals. And we seemingly have a fair bit of cash lying around.

But what I don't get is why significantly weaken your team to fund other transfers that may not necessarily work out? I mean, getting rid of Vidal for say 60 million euros and buying Sanchez for say 40 million euros and having 20 million left over doesn't seem to really leave them in a much better position than they were.. No?
