If this happens I'll take back everything I've said to Woody!!
This is the problem we have. Fickle fans. Even if Woodward pulls this off I'm uneasy about him. Everyone was hailing him as the messiah when he signed Shaw and Herrera. The former an easy buy, the later 12 months in the making after an initial screw up.

I think he will be much better next summer especially when he has had a whole season to plan transfers with the manager.

I just hope were convinced his knees are fine. If that's the case, don't care how much we spend. He's rated as the best all round midfielder around.

I take it all with a pinch of salt. He's clearly very good with the sort of business accumen that pulls in the sponsorship deals etc, but I'm really not sure how much influence the CEO canb have on transfers. It's got to be the football people who decide how far any given player is worth pursuing, and the footall people who talk to the player to persuade him of their vision etc. All the CEO can really do is authorise or not authorise the spend, surely?

Oh right, I guess this is then as well?

One of Gazzetta or Di Marzio are wrong about the location of Vidal's agent, unless of course he was in two places today (not exactly impossible) or Vidal has more than one agent working for him (also possible, although unlikely that he would not be given priority treatment by an agent for this move).

Players "saying their goodbyes" to their teammates is often the first tangible news to come out when a player is leaving!

If he gets Vidal as well, I don't see how he can better this - unless he signs Ronaldo and Messi next summer:wenger:

No just Reus & Hummels :drool:

On a serious note, I just mean that the deals would be done early and not in the last week.

If we get this done, Di Maria in tow, I can definitely see us winning 6 of our upcoming in a row conceding less than 6 and scoring more than 12 easily.
This would not only get our season back on track, but it'd put us in an amazing spot for top 4 or feck it, the title. That's how crucial I think this transfer is.

It's hard not to feel slightly optimistic, we've only okayed stories linking us to players we've been close to signing this summer.

It seems we have gone to only briefing the press when sth might happen this summer. We've been denying our interest all summer long. That the British press is coming out now and seemingly being briefed by us is a positive imo.

This is reminding me a lot of how the Di Maria stories broke through. First LvG's name dropping, then British press confirming our interest, the player seemingly saying goodbye… I don't want to get my hopes up too much but feck me I can't resist.

Wasn't Di Maria sort of like this?

We were linked with him. But papers were mainly saying we considering making an offer.
