How many of those deals have been spread over a certain number of years though?, its only a small percentage of transfers that are actually paid in full in a one off payment.

I'm tempted to start a Lionel Messi thread in the transfer forum.
You shouldn't think like that. Now is the right time to invest and if we spend big this summer, we don't have to spend it the next years. We also didn't spend that much last season and we have the money. If we sign for example Vidal and add someone like Blind, we are pretty much sorted, they only thing you could ask for next summer is maybe another (top class) CB and Strootman as bonus if van Gaal wants him and so on...
Does make all the "Van Gaal has no interest in Vidal" statements various journos have been making of late look all the more clueless though.
