Mark Ogden off MUTV: "
More to it than that (rumor), Vidal has been doing the rounds.
Stories won't go away.
We have been lead to believe nothing is going on, to not to be excited.
Stories are so different, I dont know where you go with it.
Pointless to ask van Gaal about players.
It's a real mystery."

Thats the jist, the daily express guy or whatever said he's too expensive, and that's "his reading" of it.
Maybe i'm just clutching at straws, but surely this part is purely obvious.

It's not like United are going to turn round and admit everything to the press are they? They're not going to confirm ANYTHING. We've learnt our lesson about talking to the press re: transfers. I can't see us confirming anything this season, just in case it doesn't come off. The last thing Woodward and van Gaal need is to confirm we're looking to sign whoever and then it doesn't come off. If they deny everything from the outset, then theres nothing to explain if it doesn't happen. United can't control what press in other countries reveal, or the sorts, but our response to any kind of transfer question will be a flat out denial.

Plus after Woodward's little heroic warcry interview about us not being afraid to pay top money, using the excuse "Vidal is too expensive" wouldn't sit well with fans, you want world class players, you pay world class player prices. Same with his knee issues too, makes no sense how we're very worried about Vidals knee, but were more than happy to go for Vermaelen who is a walking injury and spends more time in the treatment room than on the pitch.

Not at all, it seems like people flat refuse to beleive anything that doesn't come from the English Press, La Stamps and the Chilean National Coach are very good sources, why would you devalue them? Its clear the British press are being told nothing about our incoming transfers which is why foreign sources have taken precedence. The fact that at no point has Juventus told us he isn't for sale (without adding the word but) seems to have slipped the neigh sayers minds too. There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that there is definite interest.

The 'typical' LVG argument seems to have gone out of the window, especially with the implementation of our 3-5-2 system. I can completely see Herrera being converted to a #6 but he and Vidal both have complete games, there's no need for a specialist DM.

 sorry but this is the next c'nuppins and doggy dog world

@Dwazza Van Hernandez you know what to do!

Sometimes when i refresh this thread i got a feeling that some people just try to keep posting to break all records in number of replys. What is next goal? Berba thread is well and truly beaten.

20,000 posts. Should be done very soon.

500 pages of nothing!!!

I can't wait for the season to start, so we can all move on and talk about stuff actually happening at the football club.

I can understand the concern over his knee but not the idea that we think £45M is too expensive, that's ridiculous.

It is no longer about Vidal. We all are just trying to know each other better and socialize. Pexbo even sacrificed his thread presence for it. RIP in peace @Pexbo

With United keeping a close eye on twiiter trends, and what all fans are talking about etc, I'm sure the powers that be (& Woodward) are very aware that alot of fans are expecting this deal to go through at some point soon, and what a potential backlash (unless something else decent is lined up) there could be, if it was dead in the water then surely they would be doing more to completely nip it in the bud once and for all.

We'll sign him at page 600. Keep going. :wenger:

It would make sense if this happens next year though. He will then get to play CL this year, and he'll be less expensive I would presume. We can also make sure he's knee isn't perma damaged. The negatives is he'll be a year older and other clubs might join in to get him.

Well 500 pages have been reached and 16 posts away from 20,000 posts

The muppet species has devolved throughout the course of this thread. All cognative thought is long gone. They're now closer to finger puppets perhaps, or even just some felt swatches.

Wel what if we don't achive CL? We must buy one or two players to maximaze our possibility to get CL. If we fail this season our reputation will be even more damaged. Once it happens, twice in a row that is a sign.

What happened to Pexbo?
I dont get the rollercoaster you guys seem to be on. Vidal will be here next week.
unless his knees are well and truly fecked up!!

Ogden is a big fan of Di Maria is all i've learnt from watching United in Press so far.

United in press can be very deceiving though. You can never truly know what goes on behind the scenes:

I can picture the signings flowing forth on Monday - take attention away from the Charity Shield and put it back on United in the build-up to the season kick-off

Even if we sign him soon, wouldn't expect him to play until September probably. By the time he gets match fit with us and has a few training sessions with the team and all that. The transfer will probably drag on another few weeks anyways. Luckily we have an easy start.

£45m for a new knee - is it made of gold & diamonds ffs?

Thats a f*ckin rip-off DMC & deep-down you know it man :nono:

You can get a pretty decent one on the NHS for nahhhin - Norn Irish folk will back that up too!
