Romantic deal with juve? Its not as if he is with Juve from the start of his career or anything. Also love how they make us sound like villains with the Power n Money jibe.

Come on guys. How many reports say the same shit. Same report saying we agreed with Vidal and his agent for the last month.

How about agreeing with Juve now?

I've never known how you convert a footballer's yearly wage into a weekly one. Simply dividing by 52 doesn't seem to get the right numbers. How many weeks are they paid in a year?

What are you having trouble converting down?

It should be 52.

What are you having trouble converting down?

Can't remember the specific instances but I just often seem to get a much higher number than sounds right. Maybe some reports use pre-tax wages (whereas the English media almost always use post-tax, right?)

EDIT: Just noticed that the Vidal wage in that La Stampa article, which prompted me to actually ask the question (but is by no means the first time I've wondered) is in Euros. So that solves that particular mystery. £230k did seem absurdly more than we'd need to offer given how much less he's on at Juve, but 230k sounds about right.

The €12m figure equates to around £190k per week, which sounds reasonable (well as reasonable as these things ever sound).

That'll be before tax, and the deal will likely be structured to include some image rights payments which will mitigate some of the tax liability.

Well these are the reports coming out of Italy and La Stampa are apparently reliable when it comes to Juventus.

Wasn't having a go at you mate, it just seems a trend with this transfer that most articles aren't really backed up with strong sources or evidence. I hope it's true though.

I've had enough of this now  It's just fluctuating between good news and bad news.

Something has to happen this week. It just has to.

It does look as if this will beat Berbatov's thread post count though....

Cheers.

So sick of this saga it surpassed Thiago for me it feels like its dragged on for longer and the thread is not as entertaining.

Yep, its been going on so long its developing patterns.

-Good info usually a quote from a team member or official, usually along the lines of "Vidal has agreed wages"

-Followed by either a source "close to the club" saying they will only sell at any amount between 40-60m.

-Radio silence for a few hours, followed by an obscure article about Vidals knee.

This usually follows into the weekend unless there is an article about LVG monitoring another target or Woodward preparing a bid for another slightly less popular choice.

Monday comes around and over the weekend Vidals brothers girlfriends manager at the cafe she works in has said Vidal is ready to join and the cycle repeats itself.

Its got to the stage where before I was like a giddy kid looking at youtube clips, stats and photoshops of Vidal and salivating at the prospect. Now when I see anything about Vidal I roll my eyes, oh god what stage are we at now? He has no meaning now, I cant picture him in the middle anymore, before I could see how he would fit in perfectly, levelling up our squad and making us genuine contenders. Now all I see is a name Vidal....

Maybe we are waiting to see he plays in the Juve pre season? or if he does play without any hitches?

Yep. I suspect we are waiting to see if he gets through a couple of games without swelling.

La Stampa also say that a wages offer of €12m has led 'King Arthur' seriously pondering a move to British soil

Where is Merlin when we need him!.

to be fair, it should at least be a play on words.

If you say it out loud it is...

Edit: I photoshopped pictures of Vidal and Woodward over Douglas and Close, that's why they look weird in case you are still wondering @Pexbo

Bah. BBC have "Vidal signs Man United contract - report" as one of the summary headlines on the Sportsday Live feed, but it's relating to an Italian newspaper. They don't normally swing gossip like that. Knobs.
