Arturo Vidal

I'm just hoping that Brazil knocks Chile out of WC right now so we'll be able to tell within a week if the story got legs....

normally I'd say this is nonsense but then there is BBC reporting it...

This would just be too damn good to be true. Can't believe it yet

only saw that twitter thing from BBC but now realised I was right to see it as nonsense. As you say just one sentence in the gossip column

Daily Star

Feck sake, I thought you meant the BBC was actually reporting something, nearly had a bloody heart attack.

Anyway, this would be an insanely hard transfer to get done. Would take massive money to convince them to sell and would take further massive money to convince Vidal to pick us over the likes of Madrid. Won't hold my breath.

I was more hopeful of getting him when I thought that Real were going after Suarez, now that it appears they are not I've given up hope. Hopefully Woodman can pull another one out of the bag and surprise us all.

To be fair to the Star, they probably got the story from Gazetto and Tuttosport who are Juve aligned. Both those papers have always maintained their golden boy is not for sale. Over the last 2 weeks they've changed that story to 'actually, he might be for sale at the right price'.

christ, Woodward hasn't put this through yet? Useless I tells ya!

Anyway, I'd be sad to see Nani go, but at the same time, I couldn't give a flying feck if it meant getting Vidal.

If we offer 45 mio + Nani to Juventus this will be very good bid! I can't see Juventus rejecting that.

As our current rate of signing, we can expect to sign Vidal tomorrow, Sanchez on Sunday and Hummels on Monday?

I'm highly skeptical, but it it is true, it'll temp Juventus for sure. It's a stellar offer.

and James Rodriguez on tuesday and Ronaldo on Wednesday and Messi on Thursday

Juventus would sell him for the right price. They aren't particularly rich and have a good midfield anyway. Question is whether he would come here given the fact that our interest would probably trigger other big clubs.

Juventus are expecting a big bid from Man Utd for Vidal according (GDS)

I think a bid of £50 million would do it to be honest, but not sure we would be willing to go that high.

Please correct me if im wrong, but are Herrera and Vidal not very similar kinds of player?
Vidal is a Defensive box to box mid and Herrera could quite comfortably play attacking box to box, they would compliment eachother well in my opinion.

I'd still be very surprised if other clubs don't come in for him too. That's my concern with this one.

Apparently Real are circling as well. And the problem with that is that they don't have their obligatory 'go all in for' player yet as it seems they've dropped their interest in Suarez.

I'd go lower than that £35,-£40m, roughly what we were in for Fabregas last summer, and Mata in January

Not terribly similar though are they, Suarez and Vidal? Surely if Suarez is off the menu someone like Cavani would be a natural alternative?

I'm not so sure about offering Nani in exchange, if he goes we are stuck with Young, Zaha and Valencia as the only orthodox wingers. (Unless Woody already has Sanchez wrapped up)
