PLEASE PER-LE-ASE imagine, Im reading alot into Herreras comments "Im joining at the start of an exciting project here at United"

Think we'll miss out on him as Madrid will probably nab him, but I'm glad we're going in for him at least as you would be kicking yourself if we didn't at least try.

I'd rather we tell Southampton to get fecked with Shaw and spend the cash on Vidal while going for a cheaper left back option.
---------Jones---CB----Evans
Rafael-------------------------LWB
-----------Vidal-----Herrera-------
-------------- Mata----------------
---------RVP-------Rooney-------

That would be incredible, looks fantastic.

theres more evidence to suggest it will cost 30-40m

£30-40m sounds about right, I know he's one of the best in his position but no way will he costs anything over that, people taking about +50m, no chance unless they just throw out a big number just to hold on to him.

Are we talking Euros or £'s here?

If we sign Vidal then boom we are back up there with City and Chelsea next season challenging for the title. Probably the best all-round midfielder in the world at this minute

Its going to happen. I've put my reputation I am hoping to gain by getting this right on it.

So....what sort of formation would work with RvP, Rooney, Mata, Vidal, and Herera ?
A two man midfield with Herrera and Vidal would work. Two tireless box-to-box players, one of them could probably start a little deeper. Example

Vidal
-------- Herrera
Januzaj - Mata - Rooney
van Persie

Could even start Valencia as the winger to add defensively solidarity.

OR, we play the 532/352

Vidal - Herrera
Mata
van Persie - Rooney

It'd work. :boring:

Vidal and Herrera, in terms of top flight teams we would go from one of the worst midfields in Europe to one to one of the best the injection of tempo would be incredible.

Isn't Vidal more of a dribbler than a distributor like him? Whenever I see him I get that impression.
From what I've seen he's a proper all round box to box midfielder. Dembele is a bit like toure without the end product and brilliance. He plays in bursts, and has a combination of power and dribbling skill, without the discipline, intelligence, stamina, distribution and legs of a quality all round midfielder.

-------- Herrera --- Vidal ------

Januzaj ---- Mata ----- Rooney

------------- Van Persie --------

Would probably work...
Yup, but one of the two would take a more reserved role during the match. Or they'd work as a true pivot and cover each other as one would go forward. It'd be beautiful.

I'm sensing excitement building in this thread. Have any solid sources linked us to him?

To think we gave City stick for players saying that not to long ago. Now we're a project.

Isn't that just a generic statement that players joining clubs that are in transition say?

I would have been happier if he said something like "Bobby Charlton told me that Vidal and Sanchez are having medicals here as soon as they are back from Brazil"

I think we might be getting a little carried away here in the Herrera excitement...

AND I LOVE IT!
