The thing is, when a player wants to leave, thr message won't come out after lots of preparation that is well documented by the press, with an 'official' announcement of his intentions to come soon. In those cases it will always result in an ''I stay'' type of cliche ending.
When a player has truly made up his mind to leave the announcement usually happens very soon and somewhat unexpected. If thr press get a sniff something like an official goodbye letter usually comes out within hours or the transfer has already been finalised (henry, Ronaldo).

Been clear for a while now that there's nothing in the Vidal story. Those getting their hopes up are set for disappointment, and will most likely blame Woodward for the 'move' not happening, when any bid would have been LVG's decision anyway. If he chose not to sign Vidal, then Woodward isn't going to go against that.

Juice won't be able to say "he wants to stay" if he doesn't want to in fact. Giving the illusion he wants to stay, then selling him, will only make Juventus look bad for selling a player that apparently wanted to stay.

There is no way that LVG would "choose not to sign Vidal" especially with the state of our midfield.
