Arturo Vidal

Spurs fans do it more than anyone else in my experience. I've always considered it to be your "thing" alongside "delusions of grandeur" ;).

We do bottling brilliantly as well, don't forget that.

Obligatory Vidal related post: If they do sell Pogba to Chelsea (or anyone else) surely you have 0 chance to sign Vidal as well.

Every time I see this thread bumped I get my hopes up that there's good news and at least some serious links to us from someone reliable.....sigh. :(

I was pretty confident of this happening but now I honestly can see Pogba going to the rent boys with us hating on him for the next 10 years or so.

Pobga wouldn't remain at Chelsea that long, if it helps.
Why not? They aren't a selling club like Arsenal or Liverpool.

Even if he does go it'll be similar to what would happen with Hazard where he'll go for an astronomical fee and be replaced by another world class player.

We talk about throwing one or two players in, plus some cash, for Vidal. What can be taking that long to seal the deal?

I really hope Chelsea don't get Pogba. A midfield of him, Matic and Fabregas would be top three in the world. Some would argue the best.

Plenty of balance in it too, not to mention the attacking options they'd be feeding as well. Vidal would suit them even better I reckon. He's like a much, much, much better Ramires.

Who knows, maybay Vidal doesn't wanna join us, maybay Juventus are stalling to see what is going on with Pogba. Knowing a manchester United fans luck during the summer, after seeing Sanchez going to Arsenal, fully expect Pogba to go to Chelsea, Vidal to stay put because of that, James and Kroos to go to Real Madrid and Di Maria to end up at PSG. Fantastic summer with many toptransfers, yet none to us...

MANCHESTER UNITED are looking to beat Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea to Wolfsburg star Ricardo Rodriguez and Barcelona midfielder Alex Song as they risk missing out on Borussia Dortmund icon Mats Hummels, Juventus enforcer Arturo Vidal and Holland defender Stefan De Vrij.

Not looking good.

As its the express there is nothing to worry about. They are pretty clueless.

This sounds about right, typical United.

That would be very strange. Isn't Rodriguez valued around £20m? So nearly £50m on left-backs in one window.

Not to mention Song is nowhere near good enough and quite plainly a massive step-down from the likes of Vidal. If I was a United fan I'd be praying neither stories were true; even if Rodriguez is a quality player he's not needed.

I think they'd probably piss the league if they landed Pogba to be honest. I do remember there being rumors not too long ago that Juventus were interested in Ramires, so maybe some sort of player + cash for Pogba is a possibility.

They'd surely have to sell at least one of Ramires and Mikel to make way and maybe even send Van Ginkel on loan.

Don't think we are in for him for some reason. Reckon our 2 remaining transfer targets are Schweinsteiger and Hummels, probably Vermaelen as back-up to both Shaw and possibly our injury prone defense.

Yep, most likely. Unless that is City saw all this spending and decided they needed to beat it.

Signing Vidal sounds alot more realistic than Hummels and Schweinsteiger. I don't think we're signing either of them, Bastian is a Bayern legend comparable to what Scholes was to us, no way they would sell, no way he would leave. If any midfielder is leaving Bayern it is Kroos and not Bastian. Dortmund will never allow Hummels to leave this season and if he leaves most likley he'll go to Barcelona not us.

With the interest from Barca and Real in Vidal diminished (Real looks like getting Kroos and Barca seem more occupied with spending a fortune on Suarez etc). I think we stand a small chance at getting Vidal, but it is possible he stays at Juventus if they were to sell Pogba, because no way would both of them get sold, maybay Juventus is selling neither of them now that they don't need the money for Sanchez anymore. Even if Vidal would want a move, also fully expecting some team like PSG, Bayern or maybay even Chelsea could still hijack it from under nose, but a move is possible, something which I can't say about Hummels or Schweinsteiger.

Everyone needs to chill out. It'll pick up pace in the next week or so and we will introduced him in a press conference alongside Di Maria at the end of the month.

Alongside Ronaldo announcing his return and Thiago Silva announcing its always been his dream to play for United, of course.

I love how people completely believe that snippet from the Express because its bolded.

Everytime I've gotten even remotely optimistic about United summer transfers, it has blown in my face and left me hearthbroken.

Bit far, its only football transfers.

You've signed two good players in Herrera and Shaw already, its not as if you don't have cause for optimism. I don't think you'll get Vidal but you will likely acquire another quality midfielder at least.

We have overpaid for 2 decent players on positions that have been long overdue. I'am happy that our team isn't going to be total misery like it has been this year, but I won't get enthouiastic either, because no toptransfers have been made, nor do I expect will they be made.

Herrera is more than decent. Shaw has very good potential, they are two good signings. You overpaid yes but clubs know you need to make signings and that you have money available.,

I wouldn't worry about it, try being a Spurs fan and praying for the day we sign a striker that isn't Soldado. ;)

So if we dont get Vidal or some other top transfer you wont be satisfied. Maybe we'll get some good players who are not top transfers but with whom LVG can make us click and play good football and get us back to top 4 at least.

Shaw and Herrera arent just decent and so what if we overpayed. It wont make any difference once we buy some new players.
I dont know why people worry about us overpaying or not if there's money to spend.

Come on Ed do some negotiating. Trade them Evra and Nani for Vidal, Pogba and an Italian Potato snack.

FFP restriction this season, remember? Unless they just say "feck it" like PSG have.

Let this man be an example to us all. #believe

Sky Italia seems to think United are playing a waiting game. What ever that means.

This summer is different my man, I feel that Woodie's bagging up our marquee signing as we speak.

Turn to insults when you can't handle the truth, how predictable.

Anyone who currently thinks Robin Van Persie is as good as Luis Suarez is either blind to the facts or deluded as feck. I'm biased as hell when it comes to Spurs players but even I wouldn't argue that if Van Persie played for us. Nobody outside of Manchester United would ever choose RvP in a team over Suarez. He's been rubbish in the world cup bar one game, pretty average last season as well. Suarez would've outscored him the season before last too if it wasn't for his ban, he was on course to do so.

Whether he won a league medal is a stupid argument that only morons would turn to. Was Bale worse than Young the season you won the league because he didn't have a medal? Was Welbeck better than Aguero that year? Team awards don't accurately reflect the role of the individual. Suarez last season was better by a distance in the league than any season Van Persie has ever come up with.

Anyway this WILL be my last post on the matter, because someone has already pointed out its derailing the threat but when somebody personally attacks me because they are in RVP love land I feel the need to reply.
Whereas Suarez had a wonderful World Cup, where he swathed himself in glory and cemented his reputation as the ultimate pro.

RVP last season, 32 appearances, 24 goals. Pretty average.
