I don't mind us overpaying if it serves a purpose. I wouldn't mind overpaying for somebody genuinly exciting like Vidal or Di Maria but not for Herrera and Shaw. As said it were signing long overdue, if they were the best we could get for that position I understand we overpaid. But if it means we won't be signing Vidal or Di Maria (or any other top transfer) because all the money is up, than no I won't be happy. We won't be playing good football with mediocre players, we might be getting better results but the football won't be on the level I would like to see it. LVG can have them play a tactical good game and have them fight and stick together like a real team, which is very important but he is not a magician that can make average players perform on worldclass level. This club deserves to see better players at work than it currently has, I don't know why fans shouldn't be allowed to be disappointed if they aren't getting them.
A midfield of Herrera and Vidal has the potential to play mouthwatering stuff, Carrick and Herrera could be decent at best but will never be mouthwatering. I'am not saying I want stars on all positions, but you need a couple if you want to be a wordclass team again. United doesn't have enough class players, and the ones it have are all playing too much in the same positions and aren't really even that shinny anymore, even somebody like RVP isn't all that anymore (just look at the Holland squad, he wasn't the star, Robben was). Maybay it is not required for getting 4th spot with a good manager like LVG, but just getting 4th spot is not what United should be about.

If its true that pogba and vidal are leaving, I wonder what the hell is happening with juventus. Why would they allow two big players for them to leave like that? Surely a team as successful as them in recent seasons wouldn't be letting their players go and would be looking to build on what they have. They must have good targets to replace them with if it is the case.
I think Juve would offer us Vidal before they sold Pogba to anyone.

Juve are fine in midfield even if one of them leave. They currently have Pirlo, Vidal, Pogba, Marchisio, and Asamoah. Asamoah is a great midfielder who has been stuck out on the left as a wingback because of the crazy depth they have at midfield. Conte wants to return to a 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3, but doesn't have the wingers to do it. Evra at lb is a signing hinting towards that formation. If they still do not have the personal to leave the 3-5-2 by the end of the window, Evra could be a good wingback for them which again paves the way for Asamoah to start playing in midfield again.
Which makes me question the Ramirez to Juve link. If there was any hint of Juve doing a player swap with United or Chelsea, it would make more sense to deal with United as United can offer Nani as opposed to Ramirez.

If they sell Vidal then they will offer a new good deal to Pogba. He's still on 1m/year so I guess he would be eager to sign a new 5 year deal worth 5-7m a year. Vidal is on big wahes there (10m+) so they can easily afford to increase Pogba's wage.
They'll offer him a better contract but until they do and it runs down to its last year (next summer), no club will pay more than £20-25m knowing they can get him for free the following summer. Until he signs a new deal, Pogba will have several suitors for his acquisition.

I hope you don't expect us to go to war on the Premiership front with just those 3 new people regardless of how bit LVG is all by himself. We still have at least 4 players who are totally disavowed (as far as I'm concerned) and worth being sold ASAP; you won't replace them with just anybody.
