With Luke Shaw injured almost certainly and push Maz LCB instead, there are not too many alternatives, Maquire not fully fit, Lindelof, Evans, Licha all out, could play Dalot LCB/RCB but he has never played there and we would have nobody for the RWB position unless we go mad and play Garnacho there! Amass would be another option but do not think he is long back from injury either...... fecking Shaw great footballer but until he is replaced with somebody who can stay fit he is more of a burden than a boon.

Zero percent chance he chucks Yoro in after he's been speaking about being careful with him due to his age/ fitness - Maguire is closer to a return and has had game time recently so surely he gets the nod?

This is the line up I'd go for, but I'd swap De Ligt and Mazraou around. I think Maz would be better dealing with Saka in the wide areas.

I think this might be the starting 11, but i am very concerned about the (lack of) speed of De Ligt to play as LCB.
But without Licha and Shaw and with Yoro not being able to play 90min, I don´t think you have many alternatives...

He could do what he did sometimes in Sporting and put a (big) defensive wingback as L/RCB - in this case Dalot - but then who would play as LWB? To face Saka you need a WB with good defensive skills. Is there anyone else (besides Dalot) that could play that role?

@Valencia Shin Crosses this is why we can't be putting Shaw in team line ups. Usually I feel bad for him but, this time, there is less sympathy after he pushed himself to play for England and it was clearly a terrible idea + had ruined his season so far.

In a way it is impressive he has had a decent career after the awful injury but we have to move on from planning teams with him in them. If he gets fit again, great, but we need to sign a LWB this Jan ideally.

You are asking for trouble putting Maguire there. If he is going to play, I would put him in the centre, Maz on the left (seems to be able to play anywhere) and De Ligt on the right. Then I wish we didn't have to play Dalot but I wouldn't trust Garnacho in that position either.

Very big chance. You can’t play de Ligt together with Maguire, especially against Saka - so Yoro is more or less the only other option available. And Yoro then may be subbed off for Kukonki at 70-75min mark - Kukonki reportedly travelled as well
