Arsenal 22/23 - go to new thread

Gary Neville is obscene. Come the end of the season, Arsenal is going to be 20 points clear of United in the League table, and when that happens, it will still flatter United as to the relative strength of the two teams.
Who the feck is this guy

I'm stunned you think the sort of posts above are serious. Too many football accounts with huge followings get it by posting rubbish they know people we engage on. Just take that trey fella as an example.

Some people shouldn’t be allowed on the internet

Imagine how obnoxious they will be if they win the league. 70-80% of gooners were calling for Aretata's head just a few months ago. Now they will declare that this team will be the best since the greatest ever, The Invincibles.

Not sure how you actually got 70-80%, seems like a number you're pulling out of your ass.
But that's pretty much what opposition fan bases do, try to reduce the other to just one stereotype to fit your narrative.

Thank god most of the others here aren't like you.

This team is no where near the invicibles. They're just young and they've got spirit and fight. Not like I expect them to dominate for the next few years. They seem a little fragile, but with some additional signings, we hope they remain competitive for years to come.

It's a resourceful ass.

How tf can they go 14 pts clear of us before we play on Sunday??

They will have played 3 in the Time we’ve won 0. I’m going to say the title is definitely too far gone - 14 pts even with 2 in hand is too much.

While Arsenal do have some pretty mental fans, it just takes a quick scroll to see that's a pretty clear shitpost/WUM account:

etc etc etc

Correct. I mean, any rival fan can go in to Twitter and pull out random Tweets from rival fanbases that are the complete and utter drivel.

Its Twitter after all, the giant petri dish that cultivates the brain dead / trolls in equal measure.

All football fans are fickle, not just Arsenal fans. 85% of this forum wanted to sell Rashford last summer and now look.

Wouldn't be so bad IF we had got that winning goal against Leeds then only 12 pts which I know is only 2 less but feels different because a win on Sunday could have got that back to 9 but is what it is.

Oh, another Arsenal fan who signed up years ago who only started posting this season, funny that. All seem to be turning up now.

So torn on this because want to keep our record of only team to win 3 in a row which ends if City win, on the other hand their fans will be utterly unbearable until next season kicks off. All things considered I will take City equalling record as have to do it twice to equal us anyway.

Arsenal are not really as good as they think they are, so I don't really mind them winning it this season.

They're fairly within reach - our open play xG for instance is the same as Arsenal's. Also they made the right decisions in sticking by Arteta when it was 'obvious' to everyone in the world that he needed to be sacked, so I hope they get some reward for it. Arteta is way more likeable than Klopp and hasn't yet developed a holier-than-thou attitude that Pep has.

City and Pool on the otherhand had this aura that no other team (apart from eachother) can really bother them, so I really want that broken.

I'm actually kinda nervous that City might win the CL this year and Haaland will win the Ballon d'or.

Nice to see Martinelli back firing. 4 goals in his last 3 games and the experiment to play him upfront, interchanging with Trossard, is working perfectly.
in the meantime, his supposed replacement Mudryk, is having an absolute mare

What the feck is this “Arsenal fans are the most annoying” thing coming from. Where the hell are so many of you interacting with Arsenal fans? How the hell does a fan being annoying trump actual established local/historic rivalries?

I don’t like Arsenal, but have a few online tweeters made everyone lose their minds?

AFTV tells me all I need to know

the scousers are so far ahead of anyone else and have been for so long people just don’t give them the credit they deserve

This thread makes me nostalgic for the days of delusional Jack Wilshire takes.

5 points clear with 12 games to go but a much worse goal difference than City.

Their last 12 games look brutal though. They play every other team in the top 8 apart from us and Spurs. 3 out of these 5 games are away fixtures with one of them being against City.

They were five clear with 12 to play in 2008. We all know what happened next.

Saying that City have some tough fixtures coming up too. Squeaky bum time is approaching.

How many points did they have back then?

Considering how consistent top teams collect points these days I'd say a 5 point difference is harder to catch up today than 15 years ago

They needed that, it's a game that they would have expected to win and they have City, Liverpool and Newcastle still to come (and all away from home).

Think City have the easier run in.

I really think they will lose the title race. Needing a last minute winner to overcome the second worst side in the league says a lot. They still have city to play alongside a brutal run up to end the season, plus Europa games.

Exactly the same: played 26, points 63. The 2008 side had a better goal difference.

Looking at the results what did it for Arsenal were the dropped points in March (Wigan, Villa, Middlesbrough) - usually bankers. People tend to overblow the Gallas meltdown.

Genuinely think the competitors back then were better too. Peak Chelsea and United teams.

Arsenal are winning it this season. City for me don't have the ability to go up next gear as they have done in previous seasons. Could be the loss of key players but I reckon Haaland actually causes them to cede the control they usually have in the middle and none of their wingers really are explosive going in behind. For the first time in a long time their summer activity has underpinned their capabilities to maintain high intensity performances.

United are too early in the transition for the title. The team has the right mentality but there's not enough balance in the squad by way of quality. Need at least two or three quality signings to raise the performance levels. The wide players aside Rashford aren't prolific enough. It's not a criticism but rather highlights the significant of ETH's management. I feel like United have a manager where he actually eclipses the quality of players available at his disposal.

Regarding Arsenal the added time however has been happening for a while I'm surprised the league clubs aren't making more mention of it.
