Arsenal 22/23 - go to new thread

Always have soft spot for Arsenal the club. But can't stand Arteta's antics and their giddy fans. But rather they win it than City.

They spend 3 mins alone watching Var situations In the 2nd half. 7 mins was perfectly fine and then the Bournemouth player went down for almost 1 min in the 91st minute.

Must have. Who apart from DDG played under Fergie? He wasn't in goal for some of our League Cup games this season.

I would assume it haopened years ago. Like the period Henderson was in goal, or probably before that.

They’re having all the big moments you’d associate with a title winning team. I just think they’ve got the momentum and belief.

Their wins are also much more interesting than whatever Man City are doing, dull robotic wins.

Still it would be hilarious if they collapse.

Man city will always remain a dull club. Their first title win is what is still the most memorable. Can you imagine they have won two titles on the very last day and yet no one apart from their fans (and of course Liverpool fans) remember any moments. At least with arsenal you get some novelty.

Yeah, probably happened years ago, the extended run with Henderson in goal must have included some games without Phil Jones or Smalling.

I honestly would rather City won it. I forgot how much I hated Arsenal when they were mediocre for a while and now, with Arteta as easily the most annoying manager, they’re close to Pool in how much I dislike them.

I really think they will lose the title race. Needing a last minute winner to overcome the second worst side in the league says a lot. They still have city to play alongside a brutal run up to end the season, plus Europa games.

strongly disagree with this post
This is the beauty of EPL that second worst Team comes to play the league Leader and gives them a proper game. Fact Boremouth are in a drop zine means nothing when on the pitch

Great momentum now but they still have some massive games to go. If they are ahead after playing at the Etihad they will be champions.

Fulham, Palace, Leeds and Liverpool next. Personally I see them dropping points in those games.

I see your point and sort of agree as well. I also think they are not that special and have been fortunate with moments.

Thats a title winning performance, with a title winning mentality.

Their weak mentality is turning.

We are not in it, by virtue of us already playing them and City twice and being so far behind, but I think City is well capable of doing 2 pts better than them, provided they win at the Emptyhad. The last minute wins are nice and all, but in recent weeks they’ve shipped 3 against City, 2 against Villa and 2 at home against Bournemouth of all team. When the heat is really cranked up you’d rather a rock solid defence than a swashbuckling attack, 13-14 Liverpool learned that to their chagrin.

And there’s still the EL to comeback for them. One game a week and already chinks in their armour, let’s see how they cope with a heavier schedule. One bad week is all it takes to tip the race in City’s hands again.

I came here to praise Arsenal and their spirit.

The I looked at the matchday forum and saw the same old bunch of Arsenal fans coming on the Caf when they win and gloating.. never seen when they lose though oddly.

Anyway I’ll pass.

I can see them binning it off

We'll rotate quite a lot, but don't think we'll bin it off.

Turner
Tomiyasu - Holding - Kiwior - Tierney
Jorginho
Vieira - ESR
Trossard - Nketiah - Nelson

Would be our backup XI, which isn't too bad. Although I expect some starters to play in that mix.

WHYY did that idiot have to waste time and don't get me started on not just keeping it in the corner when in possession

No chance with Leeds & Palace, perhaps slim opportunities of a draw in the others as away from home but with their luck I doubt it

5 points clear with 12 games to go but a much worse goal difference than City.

Their last 12 games look brutal though. They play every other team in the top 8 apart from us and Spurs. 3 out of these 5 games are away fixtures with one of them being against City.

Newcastle away too late in the season,if they can come back from 2-0 down then my hopes of City catching them are fading fast

Neville made a good point on the Overlap when he mentioned being Arsenal being too emotional. They have every right to celebrate and I’m not hating them because of that, but it’s as if they won the league with each result.

You’d think these energy sapping wins won’t continue, especially when their midweek games resume. But they’ve been great so far.

Last minute winners are excellent no matter what the situation but let’s not forget City absolutely strolled passed the same opposition away not long ago, and beat a tough opponent in Newcastle today with little drama.

City seem more comfortable, more regimented in their results and I’m still favouring them to win the league.

Will be absolutely over the moon if it happens

Arsenal are winning it this season. City for me don't have the ability to go up next gear as they have done in previous seasons. Could be the loss of key players but I reckon Haaland actually causes them to cede the control they usually have in the middle and none of their wingers really are explosive going in behind. For the first time in a long time their summer activity has underpinned their capabilities to maintain high intensity performances.

United are too early in the transition for the title. The team has the right mentality but there's not enough balance in the squad by way of quality. Need at least two or three quality signings to raise the performance levels. The wide players aside Rashford aren't prolific enough. It's not a criticism but rather highlights the significant of ETH's management. I feel like United have a manager where he actually eclipses the quality of players available at his disposal.

Regarding Arsenal the added time however has been happening for a while I'm surprised the league clubs aren't making more mention of it.

Because most of the league want Arsenal to win it apart from City,Spurs and some Utd fans
