Television Arrow | Ending on Season 8

I hope the funeral scene is a mid season finale, spending a season leading up to scene is a pain.

Ive enjoyed both for the most part. I think arrow has done a better job of incorporating the Legends characters into the normal storylines though.

Yeah they've both been good, especially the villains. Zoom is more menacing than Reverse Flash, and Darhk is more entertaining and threatening than Ra's.

Agreed with that @okLaptop1
I do wonder how the crossovers will work as well. Ive enjoyed them last season, and can see it being better this season given the threats are bigger.

Yeah I think it will be, and then the rest of the season will be spent "avenging" the death.

If there is no scene now where Ray "rides" on an arrow fired by Ollie to attack someone, then I'm not sure I can live in such a dark world.

I'm thinking Marvel will beat them to the punch with Jeremy Renner shooting an arrow with Ant-Man on it.

I am struggling with this show nowadays. Its just starting to feel stupid to me now with people miniaturizing themselves and magic. I guess this is the world we are stuck with in the Arrow universe now.

I suppose they have to try new things to keep it interesting.

Its based on comics, so yeah, what were you expecting ¬¬

Wish we saw some shrinking action when Ray joined the fight, but overall great action in this one.

I'm not really a fan of that stuff either and although I like Arrow and look forward to it each week, it's becoming a little bit predictable for me. I think part of the problem might be that they have 23 episodes of 40 minutes in the season, when 13 episodes of an hour long with more time to develop fewer characters might improve that aspect. Also things like Laurel single handedly defeating four Ghosts in one of the fight scenes takes away some of the suspense.

I got chills at the end though. Hoping its a turning point in the season.

I thought that was the best episode of the season from top to bottom, and the season as a whole has been strong (given they also have to build towards Legends). Having this one centered around Diggle was a great idea.

The fight scenes were a lot of fun, really enjoyed Thea and Andy going at it especially in the elevator. Thea and Darhk moment was big as well. Darhk is a great villain, so charasmatic and calm yet so menacing. (Still laugh everytime Laurel opens her mouth for the canary scream, haha)

The flashbacks have been much better this season too.

Fun episode.

Read somewhere that this ep was directed by their fight co-ordinator hence the longer (and more) fight scenes. Arrow has been much solid this season compared to the last but Flash still have that "oh shit" factor in each episode. love them both :D

I don't understand why she does that. Its plain stupid.

That reminded me a bit of the corridor fight in Daredevil. Good stuff.

Yeah that fight scene with Thea that went through the elevator was great. I like that they gave Thea the money tracking shot too, they really need to sell that she can be effective in the field.

Wtf is Malcolm doing
Oliver keeping the boy away from Felicity is going to come back to hurt him.

I must say Vandal Savage hasn't been shown to be too threatening although I know it's really difficult to pull off.

With a name like Vandal Savage, he was never going to be a good guy.
I look forward to watching this and Flash tonight when I get back from work.

Would @Randall Flagg be a good CAF superhero?

Still waiting for Savage to say "oooh yeah" and elbow drop someone.

Just had to laugh at the Canary jumping out of the van ,screaming and having no effect .Got to be one of the most useless characters in the DC Universe.

Canary cnut.

on't know whether it's cause I'm beered up but I punched the air, laughed and gave an audible 'holy shit' when Barry travelled in time. also cried with joy at ollie's son loving the flash cause he's way better than the arrow with his cnut missus.

The only funny thing I could think of and you got there hours before me. You're a good man Minkaro

The cream will riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiise to the top.

Enjoyed that two parter, helped immeasurably by Laurel being in less than 5 minutes in total and being made to look like a complete embarrassment with every second.

Really losing all interest in Arrow, pretty much only sticking around for the crossovers and Thea.

It was almost like Laurel was trying to be an utter fecknut

EDIT: Agree with phelans 'itk' shorts up to a point. Arrow is not far off entering TWD territory in terms of 'too far in to give up watching' territory. It's dropped off hugely from Season 2 imo. Pure speculation on my part but it seems that the Twitter/Tumblr crowd influences their direction and fecks things up.

EDIT2: I love Willa Holland.

The canary scream in this episode. What the .....

Just had to laugh at the Canary jumping out of the van ,screaming and having no effect .Got to be one of the most useless characters in the DC Universe.

I have no idea what the point of her is. The scream looks stupid, and it's not as if she adds much as a character outside of fights.

That scream  Its even more ridiculous every time you see it. Have they given her an explanation why she opens her mouth like that? Even something as simple as, "it takes too long to fiddle around it...actually cisco, youre a genius, come up with something. and Cisco goes, ok, i triggered it to your mouth action, so scream and it triggers, and I shall call it... Canary scream"...

Anyway, fun episode. The time travel element was good, but it was nice to see the convo between Barry and Oliver on the effects on time travel (hence probably why the headstone wont be reversed). Still with keeping secrets, if anybody should have learn that, it should have been Oli.

This was cool as a visual:

When Barry was running from that I did a poo

And this time it didn't do anything. It didn't break glasses and it didn't hurt Savage. Basically she could have had a mouth cramp for nothing.

Spoiler regarding tombstone
I think the grave could be of that chick who happens to be the mother of Oli's son

I thought so at first when they brought it up but I don't think it's either one (child or mother) because not sure they're going to revisit this storyline anytime soon in Central City. Besides he doesn't have much of a relationship with her, would have no effect. Still think it's one of Diggle Lance or Felicity's mom.

Imagine being one of Darhk's mooks and having to explain losing to her (or anyone's mook, but as he's the current example we'll go with him). Defeated by the Green Arrow? OK, arrows hurt. Defeated by Flash? Dude can throw lightning bolts, you're just a mook, that's fine. Defeated by Diggle? No powers, but dude has years of training. Defeated by Thea? She's a zombie ninja archer powered by pure rage and nice looks, that's hardly fair. Defeated by a scream? Sorry, but you're going to end up with Darhk throwing you off a bridge.

Maybe that's the point? We don't see it, but all the ones that she takes out probably go away afterwards thinking "man, I'm bad at this. I should probably go and get a job comfort testing pillows or something."

It's not just her stupid scream and not really adding much to the fight scenes either, for a bit she was only there so Thea could have a place to live, and then they temporarily remembered her and Lance are related and had a quick "SO MUCH ANGST" scene between them, and I don't care.

She's not even the best bird-named character in these shows! Sarah's better, and now we've got Hawkman and Hawkgirl (who I can only imagine exclusively listen to Hawkwind), so she doesn't even get a bronze medal in that category. She's meant to be the Black Canary, so how come she isn't living up to that name? Someone needs to lock her in a cage and send her into a mine to test the air.

...I suppose I'm not really a fan of Laurel.

That was generally good. Laurel being conveniently left behind was weird but at least Malcolm was great the entire time. I doubt anyone will die until later on.

Honestly, the best reason for Felicity to die would be so her mother doesn't pop out again in the show. Damn that woman is annoying.
