Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

Still waiting for opinions on Mad Dogs :( . I got through to Epi 4, and it's funny in bit's and pieces and Disturbing in others.

If you've already got to episode 4....why do you need others opinions? A show isn't going to drastically change at that point, after the pilot, yes....and then after each season, yes, but not mid flow.

But it sort of did for me with Mr Robot. It started out really well, but things started go a little downhill after that. I'll probably get through it anyway, just wanted to know if any one saw it or has an opinion to share.

Mad Dogs starts off mildly promising, stays OK for about 2 episodes, then turns to total shite. Avoid.

Yeah, it just got more and more ridiculously bizarre as each episode wore on.

I just watched the pilot episode of Baskets. It's starring Zac Galafinakis, and is written by him & Louie CK.

I actually laughed a few times, which is more than I can say for most other sitcoms.
I liked it. Louie Anderson cracked me up and that deadpan female character is good.

The first episode was funny, but the last two haven't been too good to me. I'm worried I don't like any of the characters (I guess Marta is the closest for now). It's really hard to root for Baskets, he's such an over the top idiot.

I'll keep watching for now, since there's not much else on Fridays for me.

Started watching Lucifer. Thought the first episode was good. The Male lead is fantastic at playing the devil and his partner and him share a good chemistry. The Plot lines are absolutely rubbish (Much worse than Castle), but character development is decent and the cinematography has a movie feel too it. The latest episode was a bit of a downer. I hope they have a clear direction on where to take this.

Also started another show called The Magicians. Pilot was good and had a bit of LOT/HP feel to it, progress has stalled a bit and I am not sure the show will get a 2nd Season, but will probably watch a few more episodes before sealing it's fate.

Lucifer is a lame procedural. Main character is a bit quirky, but also quite annoying, and not in the slightest menacing. Had some hopes after learning they might be doing the Gaiman/Carey's Lucifer, but we got this instead. Though, it was a false hope from the start, can't do such a show on commercial networks such as Fox.

I was impressed with the ending of first episode of the Magicians, but until and after that, not so much. Hope they kick it off a notch.

ed:since to until

Yeah, but I'll probably stick with the first season of Lucifer to see where it goes. I kind of like the Female Lead and her expressions :)

Same here, thought Magicians would be something special, but it is going from bad to worse.

Baskets - Yeah, this went downhill really fast, I'm gonna stop watching, the last episode was quite horendous imo. Too bad, because the first one was genuinely funny.

I watched season 1 in 4 days , loved it.

I did something similar with season two. And whereas I'd thought Spader was absolutely astonishing the previous season, it just made me realise that he is identical in every single show. His lines. His delivery. His mannerisms. And whereas before it felt like an amazing performance from someone really leaping out of their comfort zone, because I had a Spader binge, it just suddenly felt like someone doing a 'turn' and phoning the whole performance in. I actually think he's one of the least interesting elements of the show now. But, maybe that's just me.

Started watching Mad Men and it has a feel of Sopranos and Suits combination. Oh and Boardwalk Empire..
i imagine that Suits was heavily inspired by Mad Men

"Hey, Mad Men is wildly popular - let's come up with a similar show in a different professional setting". Main character is similar as well. And Donna / Joan - the red head secretaries that rule the office.

I quite like Spader , makes the show for me.
Sadly I have seen trailer for season 3 and it sort of spoils season 2

I like the Blacklist but find it's one of those few shows that doesn't work for binge watching.
It definitely isn't. It becomes increasingly obvious that you're watching the same episode every week with only about 2-3 minutes of actual drama which is all related to a backstory. In saying that I'm only up to near the end of the first series now. The FBI boss' only role seems to be saying 'Do it' when one of his underlings suggests doing their job.

I'll probably get torched here but I enjoy Suits, Mad Men I found boring.
That's fine, to each their own. I just think that it's bizarre to compare Mad Men and Suits. They both take place in a corporate environment, and people wear suits, but that's about it. As Cina said, Suits is quite unambitious with its approach (I found it extremely tedious and gave up after 7 episodes), but Mad Men explores a lot of complex themes and is a bit high brow. I personally find the difference in quality startling between both but have no issues of course with anyone preferring Suits to Mad Men. I just don't see what the comparison is based on.

Anyway you'll vouch for this but Black Sails is great. Wasn't gone on the first season at all but it's definitely getting better and better.

Oh for sure, Black Sails is a grower. Some of the characters in it are superb and you can't help but appreciate the amazing sets. So yeah, Black Sails, everything Pirates of the Caribbean should have been.

Oh but obviously its NSFSH (small humans i.e. kids. 18+ yo.)

Clicking into this thread, I feel like I've walked into a bar seconds after the punchline to a joke I don't understand.

Jessica Max Kennedy is definitely NSFW
