Television Anyone recommend me any TV Shows?

I started watching The Killing. Really like it so far, I hope it won't tail off. It's quite dark & gloomy.

Is Peaky Blinders truly worth my time? How about the Americans?

Just looking for stuff to watch to finish off 2014 with.

The Americans is well worth watching. One of the best shows currently airing.

I've watched 5 episodes. I don't know how I achieved that. Haven't been back to it in two weeks. Nothing special. Decent filler when you're waiting on new seasons of better shows.

BBC miniseries with Alec Guinness. Quite good, as was Smiley's People a few years later.

And I think all of Tinker, Tailor is on Youtube.

Where are you at now ? I thought the 3rd season was the best, specially the actor playing the man being condemned to death. Amazing performance.

I've just finished the 2nd season. All in all, it was very good, however, in the first few episodes there was almost no filler and then it got pretty bad. 2 whole seasons for the Rosie murder was a little too long I think.

Also, I don't like the main protagnoist too much. Holder is awesome though.

Good to hear the 3rd season is the best, I'll keep watching.

Didn't get far with The Americans.......decided to go with Line of Duty. Dunno how I missed it given my patriotism for UK stuff. And the second series is supposed to be the one thats outstanding, so can't wait, but the first series is great so far.

Has anyone checked out The Man in the High Castle on amazon? Just a pilot for now but getting good reviews and as it's one of my favourite books, I'm hoping it gives a good account of itself.

Agreed, garb

Thought the first series of Line of Duty was cracking start to finish, second series has started very well also.

Yea, I saw it. I liked it, it has very good production values, an intriguing setting, and from what I hear, it's quite faithful to the book. Never actually read the book so I don't know where it's headed, but hopefully the rest of the show is good. I'm sure it'll get a full season order, it has the best reviews out of all the new pilots, and the most views on Amazon.

Starts Thursday. Worth trying just for Rain Wilson.

Really wanna power through The Wire and see what all the fuss is about. I fear it'll be another Breaking Bad disappointment for me though. Going in expecting to be blown away and leaving somewhat let down.

But I need something to tide me over until Game of Thrones. feck it, downloading season one now.

EDIT: Holy shizz, 18GB!! I'm actually excited now. :D

EDIT EDIT: Can anyone recommend Parks & Rec? I've decided that I want to watch cos Chris Pratt is legit hilarious and I don't wanna watch Always Sunny because the main fella looks like a douche. His face to way too punchable for my liking.

Wire won't let you down, but it's a slow starter. Keep at it and it'll definitely deliver.

Be patient with it.

I really enjoy Parks and Rec. It's a tad overly-sentimental, but it still delivers good laughs.

You should definitely be watching It's Always Sunny. One of the best comedies I've seen with some truly hilarious moments. But if you're already annoyed by one of the characters just from their face, then maybe it's not the show for you. Still, give it a try. Just out of interest, which guy is it that you want to punch? I'm not sure if any of them can be considered 'the main guy'

And holy balls, I just found out that season 10 of It's Always Sunny has just started. So glad I came into this thread.

Rob McElhenny. He moderated a GoT Emmy panel, he tried way too hard to be funny and came across as super annoying and douchey instead.

Yeah, I saw that, and agree with you. But the show is excellent. They're all douches in the show, but that's the point.

Just watched the first 2 seasons of Hannibal and I enjoyed it. The season 2 finale was crazy.

IASIP has slightly lost it's spark. But for a comedy 10 seasons in....it's still high up on the best, since not many get that far in are even still tolerable. Even Simpsons struggled. Problem is, they seem to be fine going on forever, which makes sense, since with the exception of Horrible Bosses, nothing is really happening for any of them -_-

Yup it's a promising start, does have a fair few aspects differing from the book from what's been seen so far but that's to be expected. Hope it doesn't take too long to come out as a full series...
