BBC reporting it as £80m
Yea 84m pounds total with add-ons. The same as 100m euros total that others have reported.

I think you can have players who are playing at high level in some Leagues but It does not mean they can take that level and perform anywhere. Van De beek playing in a good team with opponents who give him much time and without additional pressure is ok footballer who can make some simple passes and score goals but when he plays for us and our opponents are more physical and put more pressure he just cannot cope with that and turns into poor player. There are players who do not need speed, dribbling and other attributes to be one of the best because they are smart, have good understanding of the game and have very nice foot to give an assist or score a goal having all time in the world. Ziyech, Tadic, Van De Beek are examples of that. They only need those few attributes to shine. When the gameplay is slower you do not need to be fast, so when you get the ball you can focus on finding some movement around and make things happen but in better League you need to somehow make that few seconds for yourself by being faster or leaving your opponent behind with some dribbling. So being very good winger your main attributes are good shot and good pass and also your movement, that is what count the most but the more difficult the League the more additional skills you need to get to the point when you have the opportunity to use that main attributes. Antony have those attributes that are necessary to be great winger and also is hard working, rapid with great technique and also looks like someone who is gonna cooe with the pressure.

Thats how i feel. Think anyone expecting a 100m forward is going to be disappointed. Though i haven't really watched much of him, just presume Ajax reluctance to sell pumped the number up big time. It's a ludicrous fee. I don't know why some have difficulty in admitting the totally obvious that is right in front of them. No amount of "Yeah but Nunez cost X" or "Fofana is worth Y" dresses up an 80 million forward that plays in the Dutch league. It's completely unheard of for that to happen and taken on its own merit for where he is in his career it is bonkers. That can be fully admitted without being downbeat about the signing or lacking excitement for it. It's a very exciting signing too.
Surely this means the FdJ deal is dead as we've blown a similar amount for what we offered for him.
Surely Sancho will be switched out there, and Rashford and Martial (when fit) will vie for the forward position, despite neither of them being an adequate long term solution. Can't wait to see him on left wing
Salah’s stats in a much better league were absolutely miles better than Antony’s so I don’t think it’s comparable. He was also a much more experienced player.Salah is probably the best recent example of a player who was merely "good" in a merely "good" league who kicked it up to world class level immediately when he started playing in the PL.
I still reckon that the price is far too high for such a gamble. For the fees involved you have to be signing players who are dead certs to deliver.

Painful, isn't it?Jeeeez, the moaning. Damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
We have signed a very talented, young player in a position we were screaming for upgrades in, enjoy folks. This is supposed to be fun.
Which is 95 mil euros. Plus 5 mill in bonus.
I wanted the guy but this was seriously bad negotiations by Murtough.
I know you are joking, but it's just not going to happen unless we have a huge injury crisis. We have Rashford, Sancho and Martial all who can play on the left before we think of Antony on the left. He was specifically signed because ETH wanted a left footed winger on the right and we were shoehorning Sancho there. Can't wait to see him on left wing
There was next to no negotiating to be done. Ajax held firm on their price and we either had to pay up or walk awayWhich is 95 mil euros. Plus 5 mill in bonus.

22 year old Salah playing in the Swiss league was scoring 5 goals a season. 25 year old Salah went from scoring 15 goals a season in Serie A to scoring 32 goals for Liverpool the following season.Salah’s stats in a much better league were absolutely miles better than Antony’s so I don’t think it’s comparable. He was also a much more experienced player.
Antony is only 22 and still much more raw. We will be waiting a few years to see how good he truly can be. He does immediately add an exciting new dimension to our attack though, at least.
Right and he was talking about the 25 year old version who had way better stats than 22 year old Antony in a much better league ergo… what about what I said has been disproven?22 year old Salah playing in the Swiss league was scoring 5 goals a season. 25 year old Salah went from scoring 15 goals a season in Serie A to scoring 32 goals for Liverpool the following season.

No , Garnacho has 1 + 1.Garnacho will leave anyways. His contracts up next summer.
Amad and Pellistri on the loan farm from January
Can't see us signing anymore tbh.Maybe a cheap striker if Ronaldo leaves.
You have just come up with some random youngsters . Could have just mentioned Amad and Garnacho as well.Draxler, Juanmi, Kvaratskhelia, Szoboslai. There are lot more. Players that would be easier to get, not cost to much and would give us good attacking alternatives. I really don't like these mega money buys who usually let us down in big way.
As I said, I hope Antony is worth that money. But I'm not jumping from my chair yet.

Drexler , seriously?
You come across as being more of an armchair scout than a football fan tbhDraxler, Juanmi, Kvaratskhelia, Szoboslai. There are lot more. Dzeko hit 4 fewer goals just in one year at Rome compared to Salah's whole stint in Italy (3 years). Shaarawy was also hitting numbers close to what Salah did during the same time at Roma.Salah’s stats in a much better league were absolutely miles better than Antony’s so I don’t think it’s comparable. He was also a much more experienced player.

I did raise this earlier. The realistic right wing options are Olise, Ziyech, Neto, Asensio, Berardi etc. When people say "a lot more" it translates to I cant name any more.
Ill raise the challenge to name 10-15.
The list mentioned is terrible, you want quality you pay the price.
Hopefully we'll stop shopping at Ajax for a while and scout some other leagues95+5 is a lot of money. A true historical fee. No one ever thought the fee would ever get to these insane amounts only a few weeks ago. Ajax lost too many players, but on the business side we did a fantastic job. 100m for an Eredivisieplayer. That sets a nice standard for the future as well.
