Ohh thanks for the info, had him pegged younger than that, in which case agreed the age/quality won't make it worthwhile.
 
Are we just signing all players that ten hags worked with before? Basically trying to sign his former players from former club and de jong although from Barca use to play under ten Hag for Ajax. No doubt all 3 would improve us but it be good to explore other European teams and see what players they have that we could sign.
 
This is the one I would be most excited about.

This team is crying out for a right winger with a strong left foot that likes to cut inside.

Sancho - Ronaldo - Antony.

…it’ll work for a year until we find a new striker.

Familiarity will help speed up the settlement period. If we can get a couple of players that know ten Hag’a system/style, it’ll really help the first season of transition. Then we also have van de Beek.

After season 1, we can cast the net out further and buy players from other teams, as ten Hag will have a better understanding of the team and the league.

Makes sense I guess… aslong as each signing we get improves the starting 11 then it can only be a good thing.

Wouldn't mind all 3 tbf. Ajax can be our Southampton for the next 5 years.

Our club is known for great wing talents, him and Sancho on opposite flank would be pure entertainment when they get going.

In the league he's got 8 goals and 4 assists in 23 games (1724 minutes played) and 2 goals and 5 assists in 7 games in the Champions League (574 minutes played). That's not very low. He is literally in the 99th percentile for assists per 90 minutes of wingers. He is a threat and constantly creates chaos for the opposition's defense. Future superstar and will be key to unlocking teams that sit behind.

He seems a hot head but I don't think he has a bad attitude towards his football, he seems to enjoy it and more importantly in TH's farewell messages he made a point of saying something along the lines of "If you ever need me I will follow you anywhere" or something like that meaning he obviously respects TH a great deal and that he would cherish playing under him at utd.

Since we're not getting Nunez this guy looks great, we need more speed up top, Rashford is the only one that can go beyond an average speed and even he barely bothers to do that nowadays.
 
Very happy with this potential signing. A crowd pleaser and someone that our coach already knows very well. Him on the right and Sancho on the left (who I expect to be multiple times better than he was this season) will be a joy to watch with Ronaldo.
Get the midfield dynamic right and it could be brilliant.

Yeah I'll be honest and say I don't know Antony well, but a left footed baller on the right, De Jong, and maybe a CB would be a great summer to build from.

Wouldn't that front three be lacking raw power and penetrative running? How partial is Antony to making a run in behind?
 
I won't be surprised if Fletcher is monitoring the guy while murtough is preparing a bid

Not necessarily providing all three are hard workers and are smart enough to know when to go, when to stay back etc. Frenkie will be key to this because he is an all round midfielder who knows all of those things. He may work with Donny and Fred or Fred and Bruno or with another midfielder (I hope we’ll bring in another).

There’s a lot of talk about specialist DM but there aren’t actually many of them around anyway. Most of those players that are deemed that are just players that understand the tactical elements of being a good central midfielder.
