Imagine the Ajax' board seeing that video and then continuing to play hardball.
Was he really nodding to the question? I thought it was a farewell greeting to the guy standing with him before he got in?

He will be great on the RW. Finally a natural winger on the right!

I think the deal has been agreed already, you're just waiting to get a replacement before announcing

Exactly. I never answer on posts like that; "if not him, who" or "name x players better than y player" etc...
We have scouting department. Dozen of scouts who cover whole world. They are payed to find players in every category. So nobody can't tell me that there is no much cheaper right wingers similiar or better than Antony.

To be clear here; i am sucker for skill so i want Antony and few months ago i said that i want him more than any other player this summer. But it is a shame that we always must overpay players because our scouts are shit (or because we want to "back our manager").
It's this logic if you cannot think of an obvious name then such player surely doesn't exist. This line of thinking is crazy to me

Antony is on avg 3.4 shot per game last season, Richarlison is on 2.4 shot per game. So that’s one way of looking at it.
Another way to look at it would be, one has done it in a league no better than Scotland's PL and one has done it according to Caf members in "the hardest league in the world" now that's not to say he can't/won't push on here, just saying you can't really compare both leagues given one is weaker than the other.

A dribbling left footed right winger, there are hundreds of them all over the world. The main difference is that ETH knows Antony very well.
You could use FM or Fifa and find many players like that.
All wingers dribble.

Im asking for which ones are as polished as he is.

Don't think ETH will bench Rashford, he is a admirer of him even when he was at Ajax. Sancho will be benched.

Agree, dont think we should bench Rashford right now. If there is a chance we can play him back into his best form then we have to take it after his good showing on Monday.

I‘m getting sick of the incessant moaning of certain pathetic individuals.

-Darwin Nunez goes to Pool for 100 mill and you moan: Why didn‘t we get him?
-Antony may cost 90+ million and you moan: It‘s too much, we are always overpaying.

-Frenkie de Jong wanted to stay at Barça and you moan: he doesn‘t want to come here we don‘t want him.
-Antony wants to come here and you moan:
we don‘t want him.

-Frenkie de Jong is a priority target and you moan: he is not a true dm.
-Casemiro, the best dm in the world comes here and you moan: he is not a playmaker.

Should I go on? You Miserable fecking cnuts!?

Haha great post, feck it lads, let's just enjoy the ride. We can't control it anyway. Antony looks like a fun player to watch. I will enjoy watching him. Portuguese speakers are never bad at United :cool:

Now you are just acting like a complete drama queen here, picking on one minor inconsistency in age comparison (2 yr apart instead of 1 year apart) and keep overemphasising on that to build up your own little shelter to hide away from all other facts going against your claim, and then totally ignoring the rest of all other bigger arguments at the same time. Quite pathetic choice of yours really.
Pot calling the kettle on the drama here!!

Facts? What facts? Facts are not facts if they are wrong, which your stats were, everything else is opinion, dont think anyone disagrees that its a lot of money, wether he turns out to be worth it or not is yet to be seen, what Liverpool payed for Diaz is irrelevant, what Diaz was doing at whatever age is irrelevant..Every player develops, adapts, improves differently...Clubs and managers use different systems, styles, the world is full of left sided, right footed players, we'v got loads who prefer that position already...So even if your stats and ages were correct, using Diaz is still a stupid comparison. So tell me, what are the facts? For that matter, what is my claim you refer to? I want us to sign him, dont care about price, dont care about diaz ..dosnt really need hiding away from, its a really simple stance.

Minor inconsistency? Your minor inconsistency put a player in the Portuguese league instead of the Colombian league at Antonys age, not really that minor.

You are clearly losing your composure so il leave it at this...If you are going to post age/stats as a way of backing your opinion, at least get them right and then dont contradict yourself by saying they dont matter a couple of posts later, it will save you the embarrassment of being called out by more educated posters.

If asked, you wouldn’t be able to name even 10 with the similar profile and talent of Antony. Even in those ten you would be including the likes of Nicolas pepe and what not.

There are thousands of midfielders around the world too. Why sign Casemiro or go after FDJ ? You are smart enough to know the answer.

It's funny (well not funny, but go with me) that we as fans all like the fact that he's desperate to come to us, and find it really endearing/a positive character trait. (I include myself in this)

But... if he was to do the same thing in 3 years time when Madrid come calling...

Almost like football fans are fickle!

What would be wrong with that?

Three years time, team being in better shape hopefully, Madrid offering £150M...if he wants to go then we should max the fee and let him.

I think it'll be Sancho on the left, Rashford through the middle, Anto on the right. Ronaldo sold. Elanga/Martial subs. On paper, it's OK. People would be shitting themselves if these front 3 options were suggested at the end of last season. Bit more palatable after Liverpool. Personally, I'd feel happier keeping CR7, but I can understand people disagreeing there too. I just find the thought of a Rashford - CR7 - Antony front 3 quite exciting (if even just for 20mins most games). All three the kind of players that have you on the edge of your seat at OT :D .

One thing matters and only one thing. ETH is paid to make the decision lets support him. If he wants him now, let it be.

Sancho isn’t getting benched ffs. It’ll be Sancho Rashford Antony.

Yep, I'd go with that too for now with Martial to come in if its not happening for Rashford (Or maybe that Ronaldo fella if he pulls the finger out)

It will be different combination all through the season, why do fans like to act like there will be some set line up like rotation and injury isn't a thing.

95 million euros excluding bonuses... now they just taking the piss this guy better be amazing

Hopefully not - If Martial can keep up his pre season form then Rashford gets the boot for me
It will definitely be Martial as our first choice no.9 (as long as he stays fit).

What might be interesting is if we ever see Sancho through the middle. Martial up front, Rashford left, Antony right, and Sancho in Fernandes’ role. I doubt it, but he has the close control in tight spaces, vision, and passing ability to see that role out.

What are you on about?

We are not doing player to player career comparison here, we are talking about their value at the time when club paid certain amount of money for them, as to compare whether the players are overpriced or not. Are you still in or not? You are not making any sense in your post here.

And why are you keep insisting to compare both players at as same age anyway to justify for their price comparison? Liverpool didn’t buy 22 year old player straight away from Columbia league with that amount of money, in fact it only cost Porto 7m to buy him from Columbian league, it’s actually a very simple and straightforward point. Do you even know what you are talking about?

You are such a weirdo for making so much noise in your post.

Rashford is shite at playing through the middle, his hold-up play isn't good enough. Martial should start and Rashford can be a super-sub to come on for Sancho or Antony in the second half to run at tired legs, I'd say that's his best role.

If he refused to train, put in a transfer request, publicly flirted with them? I don't think people would love that - considering that in theory he would be an incredible player at the peak of his powers at that point.

I'm still wondering if ten Hag wants to convert him to a striker. At least until a striker can be identified in a later window?

Exactly. It's time we move Rashford to an impact sub role.

Contradictory. Success is judged by their performances. If they are good, no one will care about the fee. If they are even average, fee will be used to criticize.

Contradictory?
If they are a £40m player but the club pays £80m then the two bookend scenarios are:
1. They improve to the level of an £80m player (accepting that is a bit of a nonsense barometer/statement/criteria, given how fees increase over time and how some world class players won't have cost their clubs world record fees e.g. Salah, Haaland, etc). In this scenario the fee won't get mentioned because the consensus would be that the fee is now judged to be appropriate given the player's output.
2. They regress or stay at the level they were when the club overpaid for them (think Maguire, Pogba). In this scenario they'll be judged by their fee, even if they've maintained the levels that helped to get them the transfer in the first place.

The point I was making is that whilst a rich club can afford to overpay, there can be negative consequences for the player if they haven't got what it takes to reach the level of expectation that's normal with such a fee.
