Just asking, is there such a thing "Effective Showboating" ?
If it cost us by ruining a chance to score but otherwise why? It seems to be such a taboo among British fans / media. Trickery isn't diving or play acting ffsIt's easy to enjoy it now because we won, but it'd be a different story if we hadn't.
My biggest concern is that he has to take his first touch on his left foot. Whenever a cross field ball is hit to him, he can't take it in his stride because he refuses to use his right
No because ETH isn't a muppetI didn't get to see the game, but is there truth in what I read on Twitter that he was mainly hooked because of this skill? If so, that's a bit ridiculous from ETH isn't it
Cheers, smelled bs.No because ETH isn't a muppet
He clarified it was already planned
Don't trust all the noises, especially on Twitter. I let Antony rest because we are having a PL match this weekend too. We have a very heavy schedule.I didn't get to see the game, but is there truth in what I read on Twitter that he was mainly hooked because of this skill? If so, that's a bit ridiculous from ETH isn't it
Look at the state of some of these posts . Absolute dullards whose lives have been turned upside down just like British pundits’s by that one harmless move from Antony. Bloody hell.
I mean you make it sound like he just gets the ball and spins all the timeShowboating is doing something theatrical for no purpose. If you look at Ronaldinho dancing over the ball against Chelsea you can say he is trying to work space for himself to get the shot off. There are a lot of flair players where trickery is part of their game and is done for effect. Antony's problem is he does all the theatrics and it serves no purpose.
When Messi steps over the ball he is going past players, when Antony steps over the ball he is going nowhere. He may as well do an Irish jig over the ball if he wants to perform for the crowd.
Yeah, they annoyed me, I wanted Antony to keep fecking spinning just to annoy the cnuts.
His crossing was his best attribute at Ajax though.
I just chuckle to myself when I think about him doing the spin on the pitch, in an actual game, for no apparent reason. What a legend.
I wish he'd take on his full back more, he's got the technique and ability to do so.
Same commentators were saying they hoped Garnacho would take on a player and not just knock it backwards 5 yards and he should back himself going wide. It was pointless from Antony but bloody hell in 5 seconds he created more chat about him than Sancho has all season. Let him play and express himself however he likes this is entertainmentHow many slightly missed through balls do we see a game? It wasn’t some routine 5 yard pass. People acting like he just booted the ball out of play.
Same people will complain about safe sideway passing.
Would you be saying the same if Ronaldo did itCalm the feck down
Would you be saying the same if Ronaldo did it
And Jesse Lingard pointlessly running around without the ball. "Buzzing around the place".F*ck Antony and f*ck Joga Bonito, let's watch old DVDs of Paul Konchesky celebrating possession with his mum.
He tried a through pass though that did not work. Hardly a big issue. Just looked a bit silly after the trick. My only issue is he gave the ball away with the pass afterwards to be honest.
There you go, it's about the player, not the skill. Why would I give a feck if Ronaldo done it
There you go, it's about the player, not the skill.
You only support it because it's a player you like.Wtf are you on about
It was a terrible pass, let’s not make out it was anything other than thatHe tried a through pass though that did not work. Hardly a big issue. Just looked a bit silly after the trick.
This. Football is entertainment.Football is meant to be fun. I thought it worked actually and the ball afterwards was the issue, if Casemiro gets to it and gets an effort off then there is no issue.
Keep spinning kid, I loved it. The overreaction from pundits is typical of them.
