I wouldn't mind seeing Antony play from the left and Sancho from the right, a la Pep in previous years with Sane/Foden and Sterling/KDB/Ferran. It may help both of them.
He never crosses. His entire game is cutting in and curling one in 10 in. On the left he would be even worse

Great strike. Thought he was rubbish the rest of the game. Constant horrible decision making. He's a one trick pony in terms of cut in and try to float it in, which he's pretty good at tbf, but I'd love to see him actually try to shoot with power sometimes and not just do the floaters.

Also not passing on the one chance was criminal.

Yeah needs to vary it up or it's too predictable.

Quiet 1st half but ,like the majority of the team, woke up in the 2nd. Great goal, very good link up play and was direct with the ball. Super, more of that please.

Great goal, but criminal with not squaring that ball for what should have been a tap in.

I thought he did well in general. Lots of energy, always a threat. He's still settling in and it's clear that he needs some calibration, but it's clear to me that he has what it takes. He just has to hit his stride.

One moment of magic that will work every 3 months.

But can't finish the 1-on-1 and worse yet, didn't roll it to one of the three free United players for a tap-in.

A Youtube player is all he'll ever be.

You mean apart from the absolute peach of a cross he put in from the left in the game that literally just took place? It was on an absolute plate for Weghost who fluffed it.

Am I alone in thinking that he wasn't very good but scored a screamer? Like he probably should have had a hat trick and lost the ball constantly first half
Yep. He was frustrating as hell. Pellistri did better in his 10 minutes for me.

Thing with Antony is you see the talent, and he is great at keeping the ball... But that's about all he does. Once in a while he'll curl the ball in the far corner, but yeah. He needs to improve in a lot of areas for me. Can't just get by with keeping the ball well under pressure but constantly making bad choice on attack. Also just hit the ball sometimes. He always just floats/curls it. Sometimes put your foot through it ffs.

Great goal but how the Betis defender let him come Inside I'll never know. Didn't do his homework. Looked better in the 5 minutes he was on the left than on the right

He had a lovely passage of play with Bruno in the first half in their box which came to nothing, but he is clearly capable of creating openings when he's on it. Decent to good game in my opinion, aside from the not squaring it brainfart.

It's the same issue I have with Sancho shooting, or Garnacho at times. It's like these guys are so scared of missing when sometimes they need to just leather it with their laces. Rashford in his finish today being a great example

Very much the definition of a mixed bag at the moment. Hopefully it all comes together eventually.

Good goal of course but still far too wasteful and limited. Actually preferred him when he briefly went to the left, never ever looks like creating anything from the right.

He was better in the second half and scored a trademark worldie, but I'm still far from happy. That first half was an absolute disaster — aside from that few minutes on the left where he looked way more natural.

His lack of vision also irks me quite a lot. He often overlooks great passes and/or takes too much time with the ball before the chance disappears.

I do find it funny how people criticise him so much when one of the reasons we are so much better offensively this season is because we actually have an effective right winger.

His decision making in the final 3rd is maddening.

Absolutely criminal to not square that ball.

Very good goal though.

Pellistri should be starting over him but he won’t because ETH spunked so much on him. He’s so ridiculously limited and predictable. Wouldn’t start for any other top team and shouldn’t for us either if we’re serious about winning the league next year.

Great goal and perfect timing for it but, goodness me defenders should not be giving him that - it's not like he tries anything else. Def should have squared the ball to Fred and scored the other. He has so much potential if he just will not keep trying to take on players over and over - he actually went past his marker once on the outside, if he even does it a 2-3 more times a game, it would open up the inside a lot more.

Not that he is lacking confidence in himself but, will am sure the goal will give him some more especially after Sunday.

It was a lovely finish from him, it is so frustrating that he doesn't want to or have the confidence to use his right foot.

2nd half he had an easy cut back for one of three players, when he lifted over the keeper instead and his last shot a better player takes it round the keeper for a tap in with his right.

He's going to get even better once we transition into a more imposing possession dominant team. I think he's playing well and there's much more to come, especially the link up potential in the final third.

Effective? He's got one assist all season in all comps.

Scored a great goal. Missed a sitter when he should have squared it. Missed another one on one.

Pellestri showed him what going to the by line means and made a goal instantly by doing it.

Still not impressed. He's not got enough in his game other than a left foot curler.

Great goal, but criminal with not squaring that ball for what should have been a tap in.
Exactly this. I would be pissed with him if I were his teammate after that. It’s all good of the chip goes in, but miss it and you are just a d*ck for not putting it on a plate as you should have done.

Lively in the 2nd half, great goal and few good chances, probably should have squared it to someone when he chipped the ball and unfortunate for that 1 on 1 shot.
Comment are over the top as per usual.

Good goal but it will come off perhaps one every six or seven games and all premiership goalies know what is coming now so probably even less likely.

Unless he can play on the left side I don't see him working out

This competes with the “Maguire is better than Martinez” post

I’d do as much as possible to sell him this summer, there must be an Italian team willing to pay enough to recover a considerable amount.
