I was literally howling at Carrick and Rafael not to pass him the ball lest he turn back and run towards De Gea again. fecking horrible to watch.

Its pretty inexcusable to be playing for one of the best teams in the world and not be able to use both feet. If you can only use one you'd expect them to be the best in the world with that foot, needs to buck it up or get sent on his way. The leg break seemed to effect him more over the summer than when he first game back. He's just lost his balls.

Genuinely don't what happened to him. Was brilliant last season and had a good pre-season. Suddenly turned shit.

Pretty much evertime he had the ball in space he chose the wrong option. Compared to Welbeck, Kagawa, Young and Nani who all play wider at times, he simply lacks the versatility in his game that they possess.

He has not improved his game to the extent that he offers enough when we are trying to break down stubborn defences. Full-backs recognise his predictability in every game and eventually this leads to stagnation. I suppose the biggest worry is that he simply doesn't have the confidence to do even the basic things that we all love about him when he is on his game.

He's just not a particularly good player, really is that simple to me.

That said, I've seen him play worse than he did today in his defence.

How long is Nani out? We just can not have this guy starting any games for us in the run in.

Might as well sell and free up some space to by new wingers. He was shocking, he can't even run anymore. What has happened to this guy.

What about the times when he was a particularly good player, and consistently an excellent one? Him being amazingly shit right now doesn't just wipe out the player he actually was, that's a big part of the reason we're all so lost, because he used to be that fecking good!

He affects the team with his shit play though, it breaks down every single time he gets it and leads to the opposition going on the attack. Iv never seen a player with his style when he's like this, he stops still and starts spinning on the spot it's bizarre and infuriating.

It's been a very long time since he had any sort of form for us, questions have to be asked if he will ever get back to a decent level again, we are talking about a full season of being absolutely useless.

Nothing to do with the leg break that was a couple years ago and he came back reasonably well, I think the problem is more that he isn't doing anything different he is so predictable that every full back in the country must know how to defend him now.

Awful awful player....he can't run, can't cross and certainly can't pass and what is worrying he is a liability now.

One can only think that the reason he is playing so poorly is because he is carrying an injury. Otherwise I just don't understand why he has been like this all year.

I'm honest to god starting to wonder if his great form last season was the blip in his form, akin to Torres. Amazingly poor today, and all season.

What on Earth happened? I just don't get how you can completely lose your entire game in 8 months. It's like a different player.

Not sure we can continue to risk trusting he'll come back to form. He's earned time to try, but certainly not a starter anymore.

Our game was pretty much ruined when he came on. The right was our only outlet (because we had no forward players on the left side - poor Evra!) and he was woeful again.

The thing I don't get though is why he's not going down the line. That was his main thing, get the ball and go down the line, if he can't get a yard he had the strength to keep the ball and play it back to the fb.

I don't think it's even largely a case of defenders finding him out, he's just not trying it. Right now I honestly don't see what he's bringing to the team.

Nah, he's been playing too much this season for that excuse to be a valid one. He still has a reputation amongst fans and pundits alike for being this consistent machine that can destroy any full back, but it's been a very long time since we've seen that player. I can't remember one really good performance from him all season.

Become a bit like Park last year where his form has completely deserted him. Imagine if Nani is out for a while Young and Welbeck will get the nod ahead of him for most matches.

Am starting to think this myself.

I usually say that he's just in bad / average form, but it's been a long long time since I've watched him play and thought that he was anything above average, and that's generous.

No we aren't. This time last year he was smashing a crucial winning goal in against Blackburn, and was statistically the most effective attacker in the EPL after RVP.

Not saying he hasn't been shit this year, but there's no need to go changing facts.

Just a thought, is it possible that he has let the pressure of no.7 jersey on his head?

Because I genuinely can't see any other reason for such remarkable downfall.

Well when he was playing well, I still didn't buy these wild claims like 'best winger in Europe' etc. I mean, I will concede he had a very good season, but in my honest opinion, it was in the same vein that many average/good players having great seasons. I just say what I see, and even then, all I could see was a player with no more than decent ability playing very well. Similarly to how I couldn't give a feck how many goals Darren Bent scores in a season, looking at him with my own eyes I cannot see a top player there, and nobody refers to him as such despite him 'playing well'.

What is quite funny though is how little any of this has been picked up by the pundits or match commentators, they really just don't seem to give a feck. Had this been a range of other players, we'd never hear the end of it. Even Neville was at it a few weeks ago on a pre-match thing running through the players, Valencia was starting and he glossed over him saying you always know what you're going to get from him and then moved on. What?

Ok there's 10 games to go after today id be surprised if he was involved in 2 of those, forgive my mistake.

Put it this way Young is like George Best compared to Valencia.

He has to do much much better than this.

No?

I'm not disputing he's been absolute shite.

Point being, should we all stop saying Torres is shite because he was once really good (and when he was really good, he was much better than Valencia, who's always been a one trick pony that was just very good at his one trick)
