He wanted to be the hero at the end, should have crossed, it was a simple tap in from on our many players in the box

He needs to be a long way away from the first team, but some people are going very OTT.

He's bound to get his form back sometime soon.. Will win us the CL then.

This confidence thing...are you guys taking the piss with that shitty comments? That guy is wank till the start of the season. Low confidence for half a season then? Well then there's something terribly wrong mentally.

He's Bebe-esque with his right foot, i.e. stronger than he thinks, and too weak with his left. No idea how a player can go from being our player of the season last year to being one of the worst wingers in the premier league, over a summer. He can't beat a man, and his crossing has been atrocious all season.
Really do feel for him as you can see how frustrated he is with himself, but he needs to get back in form soon.

You got me!

Well how else do you explain a player who looked like one of the best wingers in the world just last season, going to complete shit in the space of a few months?

He's starting to enter Torres territory for form/confidence. Half a season is along time to be constantly playing at a poor level especially as there's no signs of his form coming back.

Again, he's just not that good a player. Rafael has more ability than him.

Good thing Nanina (Cina) has quoted all those comments above. I'm sure this thread will be bumped and Valencia will make them feel a bit silly some time in the future.

But not now.. For someone who normally delivers consistency, he's showing very little of that in his game at the moment. Wasting crosses, picking the wrong options. We need better wing play than that. Thankfully Nani is back in training now. The sooner he get's up to standard, the sooner we have more options on the right.

He's in terrible form but some of the comments in the match thread were fecking disgraceful.

I agree with this. He's playing shit, no doubt, and saying ''feck sake'' and all that in the match thread is fair enough, but calling him a cnut is a bit much.

Although I'm not sure if the person saying it was being serious, it can be hard to tell over the internet.

Ryan Giggs had a horrible season in 94/95 for the whole season. He looked like half the player he was.

Andy Cole had 3 terrible seasons for us and then finally found form.

Player cleans up at the club awards ceremony only to lose all confidence for the next season. We should cancel the awards this season so that Van Persie isnt useless next season, right?

He basically kicked the ball into a vague area with his weaker foot, any professional player should be able to do that.

And yet that's what people are crying out for. That's what Giggs does that apparently Valencia can't do. No, he just knows his own game and sticks to it rigidly because it's brought him a lot of success.

Jesus Christ.
Should we sell him now or in the summer?

This is Man Utd not some down the road football club who can afford to carry paraplegics in the team. Even if a player is out of form, some football sense is needed to cushion the shambolic form. Kagawa didn't have the best of games tonight but his decision-making was top notch.....Valencia cannot run, cannot pass and cannot cross for shyte.... Nani wasn't this bad when some fans wanted him out of Old Trafford.

Fergie shouldn't have brought him on at all. Ashley Young would have threatened the West Ham defence line more in the final 15 mins. He does not even trust his own ability anymore. The only time he get past his marker, his cross went straight out of touch. I have seen more intelligent donkeys at the London Olympic opening ceremony. He should be given a long vacation to Qatar!

Is it's a confidence issue what would you guys suggest is the realistic tine frame for a player to get his groove and not be afraid to play to the fullest of their ability

How do you describe it with Torres? It happens to players. As I said if it is a confidence thing then there's something wrong mentally as a few poor games shouldnt get to you that much and drag on for half a year.
I start to worry about him.

Torres has improved

Completely lost his mojo. Badly need Nani back. The lack of competition isn't helping. Look at Evra, he's had his best season in years and Büttner's not great.

If it is a confidence issue, which seems weird, then perhaps the only excuse could be that it wasnt Nani who was going to lose his place if we got Hazard or Lucas. Other than that there is no legit excuse as to why he should have low confidence instead of being among our most confident players having been voted player of the season.

It's a form problem, not a class problem.

But this has persisted for too long. The question is, why?

Oh feck off, you massive, massive wanker.

Something is definitely going on in his head. As limited a player as he, there is no way a player can go from being so threatening last season to being this bad. It makes no sense.

Not looking good for Valencia at all, SAF's reaction after that ballooning of the ball does not bode well for him.

You are a tool......
Valencia is not doing justice to the shirt number he wears. He's stinking thr whole joint with his spastic kind of play. He's a disgrace to Ronaldo, Beckham, Robson, Cantona, etc. It's Champions League again in few weeks, maybe when we lose scandalously next month, you would see the light.....In my opinion, Valencia has done a "Chamakh".

Teams have worked him out?

It's clearly not that, he's never been an unpredictable player, you've always known what he was going to do and still couldn't stop him.

His problem is in his head, he's so devoid of confidence it's a wonder he doesn't shit himself just being in front of 76,000 people.

It's when you see him just stop and shimmy a little rather than trying to go past his fullback that it's so obvious. I don't know what the cause is, or the solution, these things just happen. It's like a golfer getting the shanks.

I start to worry about him.

Torres was a mix of way too many muscle injuries making him lose his devastating pace, and going to Chelsea. Valencia is still fast as feck, and really strong. Nothing changed with him physically, and he's only playing in a better team than last season.

Teams have worked him out?

Maybe. My view is that he's lost that burst of acceleration he had before the hip injury, but I could be wrong about that. Whatever the underlying problem is, Tony just can't beat a defender on the dribble these days.

I think it's gone beyond an issue due to poor form, he's been like this for so long.

Personally I think he lacks the technique to perform consistently. So many times we have seen him overhit crosses, smash shots miles off target and not being able to use his left foot.

When he's on form and flying past defenders, his technical weakness is hidden but when he's hopelessly off form it is a glaring deficiency.

Needs to be dropped from the match squad for a few weeks. It's pretty unacceptable how poor he's been recently.
