He's created three great goal scoring chances. He's created more than enough. His link up with Rafael has been excellent.

He should have created five or six, at least. He is getting ball in great positions, if he hasn't created chances from any of those it would be awfull, but finally he decided to use his left foot, and decided to use inside of his foot to cross the ball.

He is embarassing Luna, but he should have created still lot more, his crosses are still poor, so is his decision making at times. But, it's one of his better halfs this season.

Jesus christ...

Hopefully this is the norm going forward now.

Clear to see it helps a lot with Rafael fully charged behind him though.

That can be one very dynamic combo on the right.

Luna probably saw his left footed cross and thought he needs to play him like a two footed player all game.

His first cross was garbage tier and then he poorly gave the ball away. It looked like it was going to be another bad performance. But after that he tore Luna a new one and put some decent balls into the box. It makes a big difference having Rafael whip in a couple of lovely crosses as well.

It's no shock that Valencia is producing his best form on a day that Rafa is looking back to his best too. They are both brilliant as a duo down that wing.

feck me! A left footed cross and a left footed through ball. What in the world is going on?

If you were looking for perfection you should've said. He's a footballer not Heisenberg.

Best performance this season. Joy to watch him link up with Rafael.

I didn't say he was poor, I was just stating that he still had his moments, even though he is playing well.

He was fantastic, agree with the person who said that was the best he has played for about a year and a half. Unfortunately for Nani now he won't get back in the team for the next game or two but Valencia definitely deserves to start the next game after that display. Best thing about his performance was his decision making as instead of pointlessly crossing it to nobody or running into a defender he seemed to always do the right thing.

I've been super critical of him, and his "good" performances this season have been nowhere near the one he gave today. Really was the 11/12 Valencia today.

Far far better today. Really wish he could use his left foot more though, he'd be an infinitely better player for it.

He used his left foot like three times today!

That's fecking loads.

Thought he was our best player today. Great attacking threat and also contributes a lot in defense. His pace is ridiculous, and when he decides to just get going, he's basically unstoppable. His crossing is a bit hit and miss, but he should've had two assists today as Rooney should've scored from Valencia's backpass.

Best winger performance from any of our wingers this season bar Januzaj vs Sunderland.

If he plays like that Nani's got some bench time coming up. Much more variety and positive drive from him today.

People comparing Valencia and Nani after today's game? fecking weirdos. I hate the way it's difficult to discuss one of them without somebody steaming in and mentioning the other.

Great game from Valencia today. Much, much better. Ideally, we'd have them both tearing into opposition full backs. Slowly, they do seem to a showing better glimpses of form.

this. hopefully no more injuries to rafa and our right hand side can be as productive as it should be.

If Nani plays, it will be on the left, like he has been doing most times he's played this season.

What I took away from Tony V's performance was that he seemed settled again. The way he drove inside and released Welbeck behind Villa's defense was refreshing to see. Someone tweeted we were witnessing the Ecuadorian version of Valencia. Hopefully more to come.

He benefitted hugely from having Rafael bombing on outside him. He's been doubled up on in every game he has played so far and with his limited box of tricks he's struggled.

Today though, Rafael was making great runs outside and linking up with him to create space and Valencia really benefitted.

Yeh, most pleasing part of his game was he was willing to go inside rather than down the line into no mans land. That was helped a lot by Rafael of course but still he had to take the space that was offered and he did.

It did seem obvious that someone's had a word with him about it. Every left back in the land has been standing off him and showing him into his left and he's kept trying to get it on his right. He just needs to do it a couple of times and get support centrally from a midfielder or striker and all of a sudden the left back can't position himself to cover for Valencia trying to get to the byline and whip one in.

So true

Great game today, absolute beast when he is playing well. Him and Rafael tore things apart down their wing. You can tell that Valencia is so much more comfortable with Rafael overlapping or cutting in around him. It just gives him so much more space to exploit and run into himself as the full back has to worry about Rafael at the same time.

Another positive was that Valencia instead of just stopping and waiting if the defender showed him inside, he actually just charged into the space and even put in a left foot cross. Keep doing that and defenders won’t be able to just block the one direction and neutralising him. Instead they will have to actually try and win the ball, otherwise he will beat them or Rafael will be overlapping.

Agreed, hopefully he keeps playing the way he played today in the remaining games this season.

I don't think I've ever seen him deliver such a pass before.

The annoying thing is he clearly has the talent to do this every week, it should not be a 1 off!.

His pace/stamina is absolutely frightening, he just never seems to stop running

Like other's have stated it was great to see him coming inside and playing 1'2s with Welbeck, he just looked so dangerous it was great to watch.
