Antonio Rüdiger

Great player , but I'm just afraid that the moment we get him he goes over the hill.
Definitely the most established cb on the market whose at the peak of his powers.

I wonder who people would prefer between him and Torres, one is at the peak of his powers and established, the other just coming to his own and pretty young.
Edit: ok the age gap isn't that great one is 25 the other 29.

Pass. He’s average and been made to look better in this system. A complete tool and headcase too.

Type of character we need at CB if you ask me, too many nice guys at United

I’m a big fan of Rudi, but isn’t he better suited to a back 3 as opposed to a 4? Aren’t we more likely to play 4 at the back with ETH?

I’d much prefer a calmer head back there who can organise and lead by example. Rudiger you never know what’s hes going to do from one moment to the next. He cost Chelsea a champions league place just the other day because he didn’t put his foot through the ball and clear it. Not good enough.

He's leaving Chelsea purely based on wanting more money, we've had our fair share of that sort in recent years so no thanks

Also I'm not convinced in a back 4 he'd be anywhere near as good as he is in a 3 where he can carry the ball forward out of defence comfortable knowing he has cover behind him

How about we go for young hungry players still yet to achieve things in their career rather than players coming for their last big pay deal? You know…the blueprint Ragnick has called for. I love how everyone agrees with the blueprint until the next shiny name comes up. Don’t be a Woodward!

Because we generally tend to ruin them?

Perhaps going for Pau Torres with him and Varane as our partnership could be an option...Jones,Maguire,Bailly should be gotten rid of.....Nathan Collins from Burnley and Jarrad Brantwaite are interesting options in my estimate for the future and should be pursued...Dishon Bernard and Teden Mengi are also a part of this defender group and it will be interesting to see where they stand in the summer

I'm still not fully convinced by him, don't think he'll do as well for us as he's doing for Chelsea. Would need more seasons of sustained performance, been inconsistent one season to the next his career.

So the agent is now at Old Trafford?
I remember a report saying he wanted to wait so he could speak to Utd new manager so let’s see if that’s true

Somone on the Twitter thread said thats Rudiger's former agent, not his current one.

I’ve done a quick Google, and we should run the other way if he’s trying to flog any of his clients to us.

On Rudiger, I’d be happy with him as A cb signing, but not THE cb signing.

Would be same mistake, old player wants high wages. Also he was so bad in 4 defender system, his aggressive style and his attacking instincts are perfect for 3ATB system. He would be idiot to leave Chelsea when everything is going so well for him.

Yep. Apparently they’re very close friends though and was even Rudiger guest at the Arsenal game.
Just saw he’s 29 so best to stay away anyway

In all the games I've seen him play, he's always in the middle of some potential kick off, Pepe-esque. I'm sure Chelsea fan's love it but he annoys the shit out of me, never seems like he's fully in control of himself. Anyway, big salary on a CB? No thanks.
