And if he was coming, no reason as to why this deal isn't done with his buyout clause an all. Don't kid yourself, he is going nowhere.
If either us or Barca do buy him, chances are we'll pay slightly more than the buyout clause and spread out the payment over three or so years. The buying club normally prefers it that way, so they might be trying to come to an agreement with Atletico.

Just curious, who would be more expensive (not wages included)... Griezmann or Bale?

Don’t give a shit about his antics. I only care about the type of footballer coming and he’s world class. Instantly improves us.

I actually feel it's less likely he is staying at Atletico than before. We are still in with a shot here, after the WC new kit, new sleeve sponsorship. It all makes sense. My muppet juices are stewing again.

Just sounds to me like contract negotiations with Atletico are taking longer than he thought.

He can't announce he's staying yet, because that would put him and his agent in a weak position.

Imagine we do sign him, he’d do all this again a few years down the line. Seems very high maintenance :boring:

I have a feeling they are waiting for Lemar to sign before Griezmann does anything

When I face a big decision in my life, say what's for dinner, I often take too long to decide and end up being hurried into a horrendous decision.

The guy has been going back and forth for over a year now, it's annoying. Hope he panics at the end and joins Kilmarnock on a five year contract.
Horrendous dinner decisions? It's dinner and not that complicated. I wouldn't want Antoine buying me dinner though as I'd starve to death.

Wonder what he is waiting on.

Well, according to reports, he has an offer from Barcelona (who he verbally agreed to join earlier in the season) and now an even bigger offer from Atletico, which has caused him to get cold feet on the Barca move. I imagine the stalling is primarily about extracting a matching offer from Barcelona, before agreeing to the move.

You ever tried making dinner plans with friends? It's impossible to come to a decision. At least with Griezmann, he's decide to decide to not decide, yet.

To the Griezmann doubters:

He sits on an airplane, looking at some food.
How does this prove the doubters wrong in any way?

During the press conference, as questions in Spanish were banned, one of the Spanish journalists used an online translator and held his phone next to the microphone to ask Griezmann if he had taken the decision to continue at Atletico or sign for Barcelona  Someone needs to post the video from France TV Sport, you've got to admire their dedication

That's my guess too.

He'll do it every single year, no matter which club he is with.
As you say, like Ronaldo, he is high maintenance and every season it seems he wants a better deal.

In that case remember that the current deal isn't good for Atletico, they probably want to put a bigger clause.

Nice try there Geekmoann, but guess what? Nobody cares, keep clowning yourself princess

 I admit I was hopeful of some news today.

I am curious about the lack of any rumors favoring a move to either us or Barca. They have both quieted down.

He didn't hold the press conference. It was for the French team prior to the WC.
I completely agree. I don't see why people are thinking that he is calling these press conferences on his own. Immediately after it is said that he will be speaking to the media (like so many other players will be prior the WC) people think it he is announcing his decision. It is not his fault that the media think try to get clicks by mentioning an announcement at every turn.

honestly this is hilarious, especially the replies in this thread. brilliant stuff lads.

He keeps saying next week next week. His transfer rumours are so boring and cringey as his celebrations

He's an attention-whore of the highest order. Atleast Ronnie is trying to get paid and have someone else take care of his tax bill.
