He's not coming to us. If there was actual truth to it, some media sources would have reported it. This isn't the kind of player who would do his transfer quietly. When he was first linked to United last year, every media source was writing articles on it. He went on TV and basically said that there was a good chance that he was joining United. This year, he has been heavily linked to Barca, to the point where people considered it a done deal. The point is that if there was any truth to the Griezmann to United rumor, I don't think it would have been this quiet.

Pretty much. I'm a huge transfer muppet myself and as much as I would like to believe it, I just don't see it happening. I don't know why the reddit user would make it up or maybe he's not lying and his original source happens to be crap. But there's no good reason to actually believe that this is on. Obviously I hope I'm wrong but I highly doubt it.

Openly talking about transfers so often is massively unappealing. Gassing about the weather, going on French talk shows and giving % chances of leaving Atletico for United, then pulling back. Then being linked to Barcelona all season and refusing to confirm which way you're going. He'd know by now where his future lies given the saga has been so long but he wants to milk it.

Considering there have been zero new barca rumours in the last 12 hours, I think the barca option is dead. I'm going to go ahead and say he's staying at Atletico.
That atletico rumour about a massive pay day coupled with ZERO journos reporting our interest only leads to one logical conclusion.

If he’s announcing it, he’s staying. Any move away from Atletico would be kept relatively under wraps until completed. And announced alongside the club.
He’s not going to backstab Madrid by going to Barca.
That literally means there was no point in him staying last summer out of loyalty. Atletico would 1000x rather he had gone to England than stay a year and then jump ship to Barca.
This gives United higher odds imo.

If that’s the case there’d be rumblings on whatever it is he’s deciding on. Fact is, atm there’s no reports of him staying or going and is up in air. Clearly it seems journo’s aren’t aware and he wants the decision to be one which he knows and hush.
...and lots of transfers happen without knowledge until the day of or hours before. Look at United with Lukaku and recently Liverpool with Fabinho. Things don’t always have to play out in the order to please the masses/media.

yeah i know, my point was, there was an atletico leak that he was offered a new massive pay day to stay. If, as those other posts are claiming, the whole presser is to announce he's staying, I would imagine Atletico would be leaking like a sieve to every journo they can?

The club leaked he was staying during the original saga. Remember that journo that was an "atletico club insider"? He was the first to say the club was informed that griezmann was staying. All i'm saying is that atletico are happy to leak positive stories when it comes to greizmann.

Still, hell of a lot pretty loyal by staying with Atletico. He is obviously very emotional about his team and team mates... More so than many other players who are given top, top offers. The hate is unwarranted IMO.
Whether this coaster leads us to Muppet nirvana or crashes and burns,i just want the ride the end soon so that I can watch the world cup in peace (or hop on another coaster!)
I never said I hated him. I never said he wasn't loyal at the end of it all.
I'm just saying him flirting with other propositions is disrespectful and he wants to make it all about himself and enjoy the limelight to the extreme. If he loves Atletico so much he should just stay put and nip the rumours in the bud. He obviously enjoys the limelight so he's milking the situation which other clubs rightly have no time for.

Off topic, but the biggest troll on here (forgot who it was now exactly) said he had inside info that Kaka was signing for United. I was fully sucked in to this rumour and fell for it, as did the media.
Once I found out that I had been trolled I vowed never to go full muppet ever again.
Could just be his opinion. The only people who know what Griezmann wants to do are his agent, maybe his wife and maybe himself.

Wait till the day progresses and we get closer to that Telefoot interview where he is supposedly going to share his future plans. He did say again after the USA match that he will confirm his future before the World Cup, so whatever it is, the Coaster ride will be ending soon.
