The irony is you're clueless when it comes to whether someone knows whether someone has genuine information but you talk a if you're itk about me knowing if someone is or is not itk.

Its literally just a question of whether you are gullible or not. Either way is fine.

You wouldn't put any stock at all into the guy's previous track record? I mean specifically in regards to Mourinho and Pogba. Or do you feel he just got 'lucky' through guesswork on those occasions?

Yeah countless other people on these forums, in fact the majority called both of those happening, go look at the Pogba thread barely anyone had any doubt and it was the same with Mourinho, but just nobody else spouted about some insider knowledge so for some reason people give him credit.

I guess at least now he is picking targes we have never been linked to before like griezemann. A real acid test. Or again he is just be getting on the bandwagon after countless stories, and a huge amount of people on here are already convinced.

This would be nice:

Griezmann (7) Mkhitaryan (10) Martial (11)
Rashford (9)
After Ibrahimovic and Rooney go and pass on their shirts.

We actually don't need him. Put Mkhi at 10 and buy a top class right winger and a top class striker. Add a couple of quick mobile midfielders to that and we'll score for fun.

But Griezmann scores goals!?

20 in his final season at Sociedad. And 25, 32 and currently 15 in his time at Atletico.

He is a top class striker?

he's more of a mix of a #9 and #10 than a flat out #9, a bit like Rooney was in his prime. He's definitely best when feeding off someone as opposed to being a lone-striker.
I think most players are like that these days though. He's a good finisher and works hard, runs in behind plenty. Not many "out and out" number 9's that are good enough for us now, apart from maybe Lewandowski/Aubameyang.

He's not an out and out striker. He's more of a second striker. I don't think we need to help fund Atletico Madrids new stadium by getting fleeced for Griezmann when we have a brilliant player like Mkhitaryan on the books.

I'd take that. Could be very 'fluid' and potentially work better anyway with us having a striker on one wing and a number 10 on the other.

I still don't want him unless he can play as a sole striker. If we play 4-2-3-1 it is a complete waste of our best players.

Hmmmm... @Adnan

We already have a top class striker and we have a couple of quick mobile midfielders. You've basically just described how we set up yesterday minus the top class right winger.

As we play Tony as a wing-back, I seriously doubt we will be looking for a traditional right winger, it'll be left footer that will spend most of his time infield and breaking the lines, and one that is a huge goal threat.

This post might be a better fit in Rashfords thread, but feck it. Since its related to the prospect of Griezmann signing for us i'll post it here.

If Griezmann signs in the summer I think we should loan out Rashford for a season since Ibrahimovic, Griezmann and possibly Martial would be ahead of him in the pecking order as.

Would want to see Rashford actually perform in a string of games as a starter before people put him a line up. He has all the tools to become one of the best strikers who has played for this club, but he still has a long way to go, to prove and has a lot to learn until he can fully justify being first option as a striker for a club of this dignity.

I think a loan to another premier league club with less pressure and lower expectations where he would be their first option as a striker could be vital for his progress as a striker. He won't get any better by sitting on the bench and playing out of position, and his chances to start games with Griezmann coming in would fade. He has proven to be a very useful as an impact sub, but I think he deserves the chance to be played in his right position, and in the coming 1-2 years I don't think United is the best place for him to do that.

Why do you think this when the evidence is completely to the contrary, CL participation is down the list on reasons players move from big clubs.

Because its a sign of lack of progress. AG is well aware of how the club is doing..Im not saying its a deal breaker I just think it would be used against use by rival bidders.

Pogba didn't care, Zlatan didn't care, Di Maria didn't care, the list goes on and on.

Players join for: Transfer fee, Wages, Club, Manager, Teammates, Trophy possibilities in near future and then CL.

I doubt any other side will match us with the above.

Herrera is a very good player but I feel we should bring someone in to give him some competition. We also need a DM.

We should give Pereira a chance

I think Pereira will get games next season but feel Mourinho will bring in a couple of midfielders.

Yeah, I hope so. We certainly should replace at least 2 of Carrick Bastian Fellaini, and I hope Pereira gets one of those spots.

Weigl. The next player he pretends to know we're signing.
To be fair, Weigl would be the first one that would actually be a surprise after the others that were all fairly obvious for anyone who didn't get dragged into the yes/no media circus. I have strong doubts on Acquire Me because of that, but I'm open to being proven wrong if he is able to make accurate calls that aren't actually obvious.

first thought was were he would play but after seeing Miki at 10, I'd have him as one of the front 3......

Griezmann is a United fan - and his idol is indeed Beckham.

These are genuine quotes from Griezmann's past.

"I'm a massive fan of David Beckham. I play with long sleeves because that’s what he did and I also wear the No 7 as that was his number. I used to try to get my hair like his."

He is a fan of Beckham but he has never said that he was a fan of United when asked he answered Marseille as a kid but later only Real Sociedad and Atletico now. His brother is a fan though.

I agree with this. Kante left a team in the Champions League for a team outside of the champions league because he had the foresight to see which team had better prospects over the next three or four years. Missing out on the champions league for one season isn't a big deal, especially if you're leaving a club unlikely to win it anyway.

Griezmann is more likely to care about whether he sees a proper future for this United team, and whether Mourinho can sell that vision to him.

But, erm... you're 14 points behind Chelsea.

That's mostly cause we've drawn 9 games in the league. Genuinely don't think we are as bad as many make out, we are undefeated in god knows how long. We just need a few tweaks, a few more investments to turn those draws into wins and we'd be a few points behind Chelsea at most.

We can still hope:lol:

I see Terry Gibson is not totally convinced Griezmann to United is definitely going to happen, who knows, but it seems those lot associated with La Liga get very precious about "their" stars when they're linked with English clubs and seem to baulk at the very idea that they would leave the sunny climbs of Spain for Stoke on a wet Tuesday night.

I wouldn't worry about any of the guys that cover La Liga in the UK, take Ballague who's the go to guy for Sky Sports coverage/transfers over here, he gets a lot wrong. He was beyond salty over the Pogba transfer.

I love that he is holding up my favourite United jersey in that picture.
