I think it is worth remembering that Chelsea were reported to be very strongly on his case earlier in the window. That the move didn't go ahead and they had moved further down their list of targets in Pedro may suggest they were told to feck off and no chance he will leave. And that was even at the beginning of the window.
or he doesnt want to jeopardize his dream Utd move by joining a league rival.

Where has this buzz come from, aside the fact that there is a picture of him with a Utd shirt?

Agree, it doesn't matter for him or Muller. The bank should be broken for them both as we have only spent around 8m (net).

We're yet to tap into the Adidas money and both players happen to
be sponsored athletes at the said company. It would make so much sense.

Adidas would make sooo much money back off the presentation of the player(s) and shirt sales alone would fund the deal.

What if the club thinks that they get away with this squad? Financially wise last year was horrible for the club and there's still that issue about the goalkeeper department to contend with

he tweeted Rooney's name a few days ago and his brother followed it up by a tweet about MUFC

Still don't see why that's such a big deal.

I thought this part of the transfer forum was for players that have at least been linked in some way.

 die you stupid myth, die!

It just hit me - why the feck did he say that in the first place? What part of the Brugge game would make him say that? Of all the moments of Memphis' brilliance

Still it's encouraging.

Maybe Rooney's back heel pass to Depay ?
Either way, it is encouraging :)

Its the bother, combined with Griezmann's tweet about Rooney a day or two previous then pictures come out with him holding a MUFC jersey a few years ago....its probably all smoke, but it is encouraging, we could really use this guy.

I can't see how a possible transfer is being discussed, because he said 'Ohhh Rooney' probably in reference to a nice skill, blimey a footballer watching a football game.

The fact he has a release clause which we won't go anywhere near is hardly encouraging, coupled with the fact that Chelsea were heavily linked with him (like they were Pedro) at the start of the summer and it seems that they will spend big again suggests to me that even if we were to start sniffing, Roman will pull his cheque book out... again.

If Griezmann would join Chelsea after they had signed Pedro just few days ago while having the likes of Hazard, Willian, Oscar, Cuadrado etc then he really isn't a smart person. Or that idea simply isn't plausible.

Can play as a forward as well and last time I checked, Chelsea looked a little light in that department, especially if/when Costa gets injured or a 7 game ban for nutting someone.

Oscar, Cuadrado would then probably be loaned / sold, 3 from Hazard, Griezman, Pedro and Costa would but them in a good position, not only in the Prem but also Europe.

There has been more smoke with Griezmann to Chelsea, than us and that's why I'm surprised we are even debating him on here.

I don't think Griezmann would go to Chelsea so that he can play second fiddle to Costa, Pedro and Costa. He is the main player in Atl. Madrid and Chelsea really isn't that much better of a club than them. He was not the out and out striker last season, he was more like the second striker playing behind Mandzukic. Oscar would not be sold or loaned too, you can quote me on that.

That said, his chances of joining us is slim to none, but that doesn't mean he is more likely to join Chelsea. Him joining us makes way more sense for him than joining Chelsea.

Don't fall for all this shite. It would have happened by now if it was going to.

I can't believe we are signing Antoine Griezmann!

What are you doing in transfer forums if you think we are done? We will sign at least one attacking player and chances are it will be Griezmann.
what chances? Nothing reliable is suggesting we are even interested.

That's just cheating, come on now

His brother was clearly trolling us fans, he wont leave to join us, we're currently abit of a laughing stock just throwing money at anybody now, the club needs to take a step back this window, re-evaluate and sign somebody without faffing about too much, otherwise it's just pathetic.

It's the fans who are making this shit up. How are the club 'throwing money at everyone'..?

It's pretty clear that we've tentatively agreed a deal with him if we reach the CL group stages. Since he's gonna play behind Rooney, he couldn't help but get excited at the prospect of slotting passes of that ilk.

Source: I can read between the lines. (And conjure some damn good fiction)

I'll tell you what, if we don't sign him, at least we know we've got some damn good philosophers on this site. Yet another intriguing theory. Maybe Louis will want some philosophers from Redcafe to join his team.
