The only player on the Atletico team that you can see saving them tonight. A star no doubt.

Shame we're a bit shit currently. Cant see him really moving and if he does I doubt it will be to us. Great little player!

If he decides to leave Atletico (which I don't think will happen - he's always maintained that he is very happy in Spain), then he'll pretty much have his choice of suitors. He won't choose to come to United. Stop doing this to yourselves.

He's shite now anyway

Martial is on penalty duty anyway lads. Settle.

Ouch that hurts. He's the only threatening player though, Torres is kinda anonymous so far.

It's Manchester United though with one of the greatest managers in world football.

It's like if Steve Jobs was still with us and he took over Microsoft who would say no to their income, with his ideas its crazy to think about it.

A player like Griezmann still young wonderfully gifted, working with Martial another frenchman for the same club team, plus learning from Ibra at the same time? world at his feet literally just has to say yes.
More like Jobs taking over a dying Blackberry but yeah I get the idea.

Now that he missed a penalty, does that mean that united can have him at a lower price?

He was shit today, lets be honest. After that penalty miss nothing worked, it was Torres level shitness

Looked neat and tidy tonight but really didn't get much help from Torres. Didn't look like a top player really who should demand a massive fee but I guess it's only one game.

He was at least involved today and didn't hide like some of the other stars on the pitch. Torres was completely useless as a partner so that didn't help either. Should have scored his first penalty though.

No having seen the game I can say with 100% certainty that Torres was infact a million times shitter amusing that he's getting game time in a champions league final

I thought he did well up until his penalty miss. It doesn't help that up front, he receives little support. Torres was non-existent.

He pretty much decided it against Barca and Bayern, and almost, just almost, scored another vital goal in a big game.

I hope he and some other Atletico players decide to move on after this disappointment. Their players won't have that much problems fitting in with Mourinho tactics/system. Woodward should be preparing bids.

In some ways Atletico are decently prepared for his departure. They'd get a huge fee and Correa (21) and Vietto (22) are probably best playing Griezmann's role as a support striker. They've signed Gaitan to play on the right and have played their best football in the CL this year with Koke-Saul-Gabi as a technically superb and mobile 3 man central midfield. They could spend the Griezmann money on a proper 9 for when Torres turns back into a pumpkin and another wide player :

-------------9---------------- (Torres, Vietto)
Carrasco---------------Gaitan (W, Correa, Koke, Saul)
------Koke----Saul---------- (Gabi, Thomas, Oliver)
----------Gabi--------------- (Augusto, Kranevitter, Tiago)

or when they go 4-4-2:

-------------9---------------- (Torres)
------------Correa----------- (Vietto)
Carrasco---------------Gaitan (W, Correa, Koke)
-----------Koke------------ (Gabi, Thomas)
-------------Saul--------------- (Augusto, Kranevitter, Tiago)

Obviously Griezmann can be the starting RW and Gaitan the 3rd winger, but Atletico looking a bit technically sharper against Real and Bayern playing Koke and Saul in their natural central roles does possibly make him leaving (the 50-60M fee won't hurt either) a less bitter pill to swallow if it goes done.

He was a bit uninspiring during that game. It outta knock a few million euros from that tremendous transfer fee this summer. Onto the Yannick Carrasco megathread.

He's a fraud. I'd still take him on a free. Mostly as a thank you to his brother for supporting United during those lean Fergie years.

Everybody was rubbish tonight, no attacker stood out at all. Was a game for the midfielders.

I like that he didn't hide all game, he dropped deep and got the ball way more which helped them turn the tide in the game, but both teams defended well.

With the way his reputation's been building over the past couple of seasons, you'd expect him to impact the game in the way Ferrasco did after coming on at half time, or Bale did for Madrid. Then again, no player is at his best all the time, so I'm sure Grizmann is capable of those sort of performances as well. Haven't seen him play enough to comment, really.

Bale did sod all tonight. Carrasco was the only player who really impacted the game in an attacking way really.

I don't think griezmann will ever be a player to grab the game and win it by himself, he's a very technical forward with good movement and decent pace, who's usually a very clean finisher. Give him the ball plenty and he will score, but if your on the back foot he won't pop up with a moment of magic like some can.

Was completely anonymous after he missed the penalty

Yup, was my biggest problem with him today. He was their best player in the first half when everything was going to feck, then penalty miss and then he seems to have broken mentally. Fair fecks for taking the pen in the shootout though.

Regarding the bolded part: Wow, we must have watched two different games.

And thanks for your opinion on Griezmann. I'm not sure if he's right for us, if that's the case. We're in desperate need for players who can turn a game, especially if we're splashing the cash to the the sum Griezmann would command.

It's funny how people have been watching him for several months now and are frothing over him and he has one below par performance which the masses watch and all of a sudden there's a bunch of negative posts declaring him "not what we need".

If we could buy Griezmann OR Carrasco... Who would you prefer?

People(especially on the CAF) are a fickle bunch and quite like that. While this is not exactly a bad thing, watching people pontificate now to get proved later is worrying.

I hope we seriously try to obtain him because i feel he's still a very obtainable target for a reasonable fee and one that would massively improve us subsequently. In fact a good number of the Atletico players would do and they would fit quite easily into Jose's plans/tactics. I don't mind Woodward going all muppet on their players and placing cheeky bids.

I think it's more down to the fact that the people who have watched him all season are desperate for him to sign for us whereas there are a few posters who watched him last night and are basing their opinion on that game.

Bale who got the assist for the goal and was generally real's biggest threat, at least in the first half? and grizi who basically won the quarters and the semis by himself and was their top scorer in the league? same grizi who popped up with the moment of magic against barca? I could not disagree with your post more strongly.
