2. Indeed, if they did follow Atletico, they would see his high sense of a sacrifice and the impressive defensive contribution required by the Simeone's philosophy. It's more difficult to score a lot of goals at Atletico than at Real all things equal.

------- PSG tried to get Neymar in 2014, 2016 (club ready to spend 180 millions) and - at the end - got him in 2017.
------- PSG tried to get Di Maria in 2014 who opted for United. One year later, he joined PSG.
------- I could say the same about players like M'bappé.
Please trust me, I've never read on a PSG forum that Neymar didn't deserve to play for Paris for having rejected some offers in the past. And God knows I've ready a lot of stupid things in my life like 'Cavani not good enough'.

Last but not least, Griezmman is supposed to be a United fan but I think it means nothing. It's not as if he grew in Manchester and used to live near OT.

The most interesting fact is that only 7-8 clubs are in a position to acquire him but only 3-4 are likely to follow him.

So, I deeply believe United has a very good chance to take him.

Logic certainly points to Atletico preferring to sell to United.

The main problem United has is that the club just doesn't have the same drawing power that Barcelona has.

That seems an odd conclusion to me.

If we are in for Sanchez, with a huge great big whopping caveat on the 'if', then he could easily slot in on the right; he has played there more than anywhere else in his career. Greizmann behind the striker and Martial and Rashford rotating for the left position would mark the first time since probably 2008/09 where our attack looks genuinely world class on paper.

Not going to happen of course, but a man can dream.

Buyout clause makes Athletico’s position completely irrelevant.

He has said many times he is happy in Spain so Barca are heavy, heavy favourites.

Who says we don't already have an agreement with him in the summer? If rumors were to be believed, he was going to come in and take the #7 shirt. Once the Athletico ban got upheld, the club allowed him to stay another year until they could find a replacement. To me that is the most plausible situation. It makes much more sense than him rejecting us, or United pulling out of the deal.
 
I dont get why so many people are so butt hurt that he didnt come last summer? Grow up would you all. Sanchez chose Arsenal over and Hazard chose Chelsea over us. Doesnt seem to stop people from drooling those two and you all would gladly accept either one of them if the transfer happened today.
 
Feels like he's dicking us around, although we're dicking ourselves around for sure. I don't believe for a second he'll join us fwiw (nothing!)

It's literally come out of nothing except for some thinking that he's the supposed 'mystery player' that some journos have said we're looking to sign to replace Coutinho. And Sky Bet reducing odds from 40/1 to 7/2 favourites. But that normally means feck all.
 
We need a winger whose got plenty of pace/trickery and who can score loads of goals. Think of the likes of Salah or Mane.
 
Always amuses me when people describe twitter is “going off” or it’s “all over Twitter” when in fact it’s usually one tweet from a dodgy source and a load of fans jizzing themselves. It’s not “all over Twitter” unless every journo is on it in my book.
 
will be like mata, a luxury player that will not suit our current needs. our board needs to look at how to complete our team and not just buy any player then shoehorn him into the team.

We have already attracted him? Last summer he was definitely going to come to United unless the transfer ban was held up, which it did. Second in the league, the only reason people believe United are having a poor season is because Manchester City are just out of this world at the moment. Up until the end of December, at which we lost a ton of points, United had one of their best ever starts to the league...?

Fair enough it doesn't look like we can pinch a trophy this season (FA Cup best hope) but this season is perhaps the best we are having statistically (not trophy wise) since SAF. I honestly can't see Griezmann / Dybala coming to United though if we do get Sanchez this window.

i don't see why Griez would be done if we get Sanchez. they're both versatile players, and we will still need a Zlatan replacement.

Doubtful. I think if we’ve moved on it’s because he’s chosen Barca.

His buyout is about 50% cheaper than it would cost to buy a similar profile player (e.g. Dybala).

Griez for one would be hugely pissed that the number 7 is gone. What's the point in following his idol if he can't have his number eh?

Well he can't complain too much given that he had the chance to get that shirt last year, but he decided not to take it. He also can't blame us for (potentially) bringing in another player to fill that shirt.
 
So Barca still want him or not ?

Seems to me the recent Griezman to Barca links were just a smokes screen to get Liverpool to sell and stop delaying the inevitable with Coutinho.

No other big clubs have been linked with Griezman other then United. Strange?

I see no reason why it would be one or the other.

Sanchez will be a fairly expensive acquisition (wages, singing on factored).

Griezmann would be also.

But it's very realistic to think we could sign both.

My biggest question is do Barca have him in the bag already? If not, I could definitely see us buying him.

We need two game-changers.
