I wouldn’t be bothered if we did or didn’t buy him now. For me a pacey RW and a starting LB should be priority, and has been for well over 2 seasons.
That is what a lot of people are overlooking.
Many people are suggesting other creative players with the goal of changing how we play. Which isn't a bad thing. But signing Griezmann should, in theory at least, fit into how we are playing and simply make us better at it.
It's the beauty of signing anybody from Atletico really. If they worked well in Simeone's system, it's as close to a guarantee as is possible that they will be able to be trusted in the bigger games for Mourinho.
In that case, I'd love for us to go for Carrasco.

His release clause is currently €200m but this is reduces to €100m in January.
Any interested club only has to trigger the release clause and Greizmann is free to discuss terms with them, If he is interested.

Not concerned about the rumours. If he does leave Atletico it will be for PSG or United, and I fancy our chances after having the deal all but done in the summer before he changed his mind at the last minute. Everyone involved would be fecking moronic to allow him to just wander back into the wild after having the deal sealed. Well that's obviously not true. Using us for what exactly? He had a release clause, we wanted to sign him, almost did but then Atletico got their transfer ban all of a sudden and made him stay out of loyalty (for once) and not screw them over with no replacement. Now it's anyone's guess who gets him for the 86m release clause which suddenly isn't a crazy amount of money. Barca last summer had no need for him, now though they have no Neymar and will be looking to replace Suarez with his aging and declining. It happens.
