Agree.

I mean I don't think Martial may have faced some problems with adapting to Mourinho's methods which is the case for a lot of footballers who have to tune into a new system. But I wholeheartedly disageee that we are seeing fundamental or even substantially shift in the methods applied by the player today. If anything, the change I see in Martial's game is mostly to do with the confidence that comes with the importance and relevance that he deserves to have in the team, and has not received from the current manager. Yes or course he picked up the ball and dribbled more in the past and his off the ball movement can improve. But A) have we made the use of a huge strength or his that he displayed in his first year and few footballers have? B) Are we now seeing a player transformed by Mourinho?. The answer to both questions is No for me. But it won't stop Mourinho and his supporters from beating his drum and busting Martial's to claim credit.

If anything, to me it appears as though Mourinho is holding the player back. He's a much better player today had LVG be coaching him the last two years (although it would obviously be miserable for us). I hope Mourinho ions out his deficiencies as most 22 year olds have them. But he needs to stop making the mistake of not celebrating /making the most of his strengths.
Fabulous. Spot on.

the anti-Mourinho brigade are a touchy bunch

the win last week and an in-form Martial guided by Mourinho must seriously rankle you lot
no but the inability of our team to score 4 or more goals does. When was the last time we thrashed our opponents. Maybe the beginning of last season. Although what's most important is winning, I miss those 5-0 scorelines under Fergie, especially seeing city score 5 goals so often.

Hope Martial FC show hands today.
It will depend on how we set up. I hope his performances of late sees him rewarded by starting Sanchez or Rashford up top again. He is wasted trying to cross to Lukaku all game or play one-two’s with him. He still needs the right conditions to shine, and Mou should do everything to see it done.

Apparently, Lukaku's not with the squad.

If I take Lukaku out of my starting line up and he ends up being there I’m blaming you

Wouldn’t mind seeing Sanchez up top with Rashford and Martial either side, think that Sanchez and Martial combo could work quite well.

I think offensively Martial has always been very good. The goals and assists prove that. His defensive work has, until recently, been the one area that you could make a case Alexis offered more though (I recognise that ain’t saying much). However, given Martial’s recent desire and competence in covering Shaw I can’t see anything Mou could pick him up on. He’s our best player.
This idea that Martial has not been putting in a defensive shit until recently, also peddled by Mourinho, is a myth. He has been busting a gut defensively all throughout Jose's time here, but it goes under the radar and gets drowned out by OTT criticism if he does it and doesn't get assists/goals.

I think he has his qualities, but on current form he shouldn’t be anywhere the starting lineup on merit. Also something to consider, has Lukaku, in all his time here, had an impact like Martial the last few games? I think not. Which should go in favor of consideration of how best to utitilize Martial. I hope you are right, for these reasons.

Bournemouth 1:2 Man Utd
5 goals in his last 4 games in PL.

Back to his form of first season. Our most important attacking player.

This might not be the best time to say this but, I don't see what he's offering on the left. He's the most dangerous attacking player right now and he's just not getting on the ball enough in my opinion.

They've tried everyone else at #9 so far, so why not him?

He probably created the most chances and they should have been used better.

Sorry to start on a negative note but you can see why people get so frustrated by him. His off-the-ball movement is terrible at times. When the play's developing on the other side of the pitch you're screaming at him to make a run inside or over the shoulder of the RB and he just stands there.

But yeah, he's quality isn't he. Great finisher and his combination play is superb. The amount of times he manages to get someone in on goal is unreal. If he improves his off-the-ball stuff he'll be as good as the Hazards and KDBs.

Should’ve gotten an assist as well had Shaw not fecked it up.

Our boy is flying.
Fred's chance too. Been fantastic though. Showing how he actually is our best front 3 player and needs to always be in the team. If there are 2 outfield players in our team that should be undroppable, that's Martial and Pogba. Nobody else.

We eating good tonight again Martial FC!

He needs to keep working hard. Still a lot there to come from him with some hard hard work.

Martial FC! We are having a feast, who is eating with us tonight?!:drool::drool::drool:
I am!

Let's get some Jamaican jerk chicken! Hot and spicy like our lad:drool:

Took his goal well and created a sitter for Fred and a very good chance for Shaw, overall a good performance.

What Jose’s Chelsea had in Hazard, Jose’s United has in Tony Martial.
