He's the new Henry, always has been. Frightening to imagine how high his ceiling could be.

Hmm...nobody actually said that this season so far. Rather, everyone was moaning about him being benched for Rashford.

Never say nobody on these boards, I guarantee you there has been people on this thread and others who have mentioned that the main reason Martial has an impact is because he comes off the bench and faces tired legs, and since United was winning this way that it should stay that way. They've used the few poor games he's had as a starter to justify that claim.

I along with a few others have said this man is a striker. Left wing limits him.

Sensational player

Very clear that he has progressed under Jose this season. Now well ahead of Rashford in the pecking order, if they compete for the same position.
Not sure. I'd say Rashford is ahead in the pecking order for games like Arsenal and City but I think Lukaku and Martial have a better chemistry on pitch.

He's brilliant as a striker you have to say. Both him and Lukaku seem to play off each other really well when they play together. More of this please.

Undroppable now, just as he was under LVG though now he’s even better :drool::drool:

Hold up play has always been good. He should not have any defensive responsibilities - just let him do his thing ffs. That dribble when he was fouled, i've never seen a United player with that close control ever. The ball just was glued to his feet.

We've been dog shit in big games this year and also last year. Time for Jose to unleash the Tony

So, so good. His technique is really something. I’m not sure who his close control is reminiscent of. It’s rare to see someone as powerful with that close control

Different animal as a striker ! Clearly ahead of Rashford in the pecking order , also liking the little layoffs with Lukaku
Could be lethal partnership

Messi.

Cough cough dare I say it. Messi... runs like Henry but that ball is stuck to his foot like Messi. If he ever becomes half as good as Messi then some player.

Edit; thank god @Sayros said it first.

What a player, his dribbling was good so was his strength. He handled 2-3 watford players almost everytime.

Why is everyone using this as an opportunity to say he is ahead of Rashford on the pecking order. It remains to be seen. I'd still like to see Rashford on the right compared to the other options we've seen thus far.

The one problem that I see with Martial is that he doesn't know when to release the ball. He doesn't look up while dribbling.

Thinking the same, but Messi is more agile and nimble. Martial is more powerful and faster. Close control is similar.

Come on man, close control is not similar. Messi is messi, ball sticks to his boot all the time.

Coming to the question you asked, Ronaldo? (Brazilian)

That's all I was comparing him on, Messi is from another world.

When he’s in this kind of form, he’s unplayable. If he can maintain this kind of form for a lengthy time, we’ll be a lot better for it as he’s special.

Better hold up play than lukaku. We need to play him as a striker more often, he is deadly one on one and breezes past players.

Lukaku’s technique somehow looks better playing with Martial. They have a partnership

I think Lukaku is a bit underrated when it comes to his playing ability because he usually plays very high up the field hoping to finish a pass or cross which often leaves him isolated from the rest of the game. But now that he is the one dropping deep with a faster partner I think it's becoming more obvious that the lad can actually play football and of course if he has a partner that he has a good understanding with will help his game as well.

So true. Lukaku's hold up play is so poor for someone his size. But today, his link-up play has been superb. Has had a hand in two of our goals. Lukaku needs a goal in the 2nd half.
