I find it bizarre how some people are so far up Mourinho's arse that they rationalize and excuse absolutely everything he does.

It's almost like a cult or something. These people seem completely unable to think for themselves, and will follow their dear leader to the edge of the world.
I'd say the cult is more restricted to Martial worshipers.

I hope it's because of the knock that Martial isn't playing. Martial is playing better than Rashford at the moment, he deserves to start over him. I think they are both great players but if we are going on form, has to be Martial. I doubt Rashford will have much defensive duties today.

I'm not getting sucked back into this .

Martial is talented and will continue to get chances. Mourinho has his reasons for having Rashford as first choice. Some reasons we are not privy to. If you cant accept that then I don't know what to tell you. All this shite would make a lot more sense if we weren't winning. We must have been after Perisic as well for a bit of banter. Has nothing to do with certain skill sets/tactics/style apparently.

You are like a dog with a bone. Don’t know what your problem with Mourinho is.

Yeah I wonder how Mourinho can justify his team selection considering we have won every game bar one. Give it a rest.

And we have won every game without pogba bar one so when he comes back fellani should still play ahead of him, awesome reasoning there folks

It doesn't even bother me anymore that much since it has become expected. Though what annoys me are the people pretending that it's fine and any sort of disapproval about him being dropped is silly or people overreacting.

Let's just say it, it's bad management simple as that. Now repeating it every week becomes tedious especially as we've come to expect him to be dropped regardless of performance but people laughing at those pointing Jose's unfair management of him are now coming off as a bit pathetic especially given the length they'd go to explain why him being dropped on the back of brilliant performances is justify rather than just admitting he's not fancied by his manager and being treated quite unfairly.

So yeah, I've made my peace with his current situation and Jose's doing of things, but the people coming in every other threads telling other to blindly believe in some straw grasping reasons as to why he's "rightly" being dropped should just call it a day and stop bothering with random excuses.

He certainly has his sources. Was the first to say Pogba could be out for ages. Turns out, he's right. Also said there were fears Mendy had done his ACL... was right too.Let's hope he's right again.
Don't think he was first on Pogba and was not first on Mendy (in truth he only speculated that City would've worried if he had done his ACL).

I'm aware of that. Do you not think Mourinho does see what happens in training though? That he does know what he actually wants? You think he picks Rashford for banter? Mourinho sees what happens on the pitch as well, give it a rest.

Think it's just the case that most United fans simply don't share Mourinho's footballing 'philosophy' (apologies for using that word).

Sorry for whining about the continued non selection of a player who was once touted to be a future Ballon D'or contender and whose performances in the limited number of minutes he has got has been nothing short of phenomenal. Martial is an exceptional talent, we feel worried that his golden future lies elsewhere and not Old Trafford. It is a legit concern, apologies for not agreeing with Mourinho on every fecking detail.

Status of Pogba is different, not to mention Fellaini compared to Pogba is a massive drop off in terms of what they bring to the side, whereas Rashford and Martial is a more even battle, with Rashford acquiring a higher squad status on the back of last season. Until we don't drop points, I don't see Martial winning the starting role ahead of him.

I'm sure most of us want Tony to start, heck I'd play both of them, but I don't think we should jump on Jose's back until it costs us points.

The first battle has been won with Lingard not being a particularly big part of the team right now, now it's on to the other overrated Mancunian lad. Rubbish last weekend but is still playing. Unfortunately it'll take a run of terrible performances for him to be displaced as automatic starter.

I’ll hazard a guess that those who didn’t want Mourinho at United are those who cry the most about this. Agenda.

The problem is he's putting in world class performances and still getting dropped. Imagine when he has a drop in form - he'll fecking become 3rd choice after Lingard.

He is second choice and will play in games we want to rest Radford or someone else in, and less important cup games. It doesn't matter how he plays, he scored a goal and had two assists plus a rebound on his shot resulted in a goal, was the best player in a 4-1 in Moscow and he still doesn't play today. He has scored while coming on for a few minutes and it did not improve his position. He could come on for 5 minutes today and score 4 goals to get us back from 0-3 and he would still be on the bench in the next league game.

He is second choice and it's going to stay this way. Deal with it. Accept. We are not Martial FC. If he doesn't like playing second fiddle he can leave.

Spot on, If Martial's passport read "Country of Birth: England" he would be first choice, that combined with Jose seeming to care more about his LW being able to double as a second LB has sealed Martial into this secondary role.

I'm happy enough with Mourinho right now, but I still have misgivings about his approach at times, and the preference for Rashford over Martial at this moment feels reflective of that.

He was limping coming off the plane Thursday morning after picking up an injury. I'm all for complaining about when he starts, but there were legit concerns he wouldnt even make the bench.

Probably going to come on and score anyway to be fair.

Can't even be bothered getting angry about it anymore.
Same here. I've reached that stage by now. Though it's the folks trying to paint a fake picture about this situation that have started to irk me instead.

That's BS. I always wanted Mourinho and am a big fan but his management (read: mis) of a world class talent like Martial is shocking. If it continues this way, we might lose Martial in the summer and Jose will be at fault.

Part of me is hoping it was just the injury. Martial has to start being rewarded with his form as hes been sensational whenever hes played.

He played in Russia some days ago. And there was rumours about some minor injury.

I mean, Jose and his nonsense will cost us a lot in a mediate future, am I right?

Mourinho only plays Rashford because he's English.

Nail on the head.

I'm getting frustrated about it, but as long as we are winning, I can stomach my favorite player on the team being left out. It will be interesting to see how its handled after international, as that is the first easy time for Mourinho to change the rotation.

He has the potential to be one of the best forwards in world football and we're potentially alienating him because he doesn't work as hard off the ball as the lesser talent Rashford.

It's an absurd situation.

This. Some of us have eyes can see the obvious world class abilities he has with the ball. If we lose Martial, it will be much worse than losing Pogba - Martial is an elite, elite talent.

fecks sake please stop using logic!

Our fans used to care about playing attractive, attacking football. For some reason this changed when Mourinho signed. Wonder why.

I have never given a crap about that. I just want to see United win - at any rate, Jose has played quit good football here overall so far.

Congrats on taking a completely different situation and trying to argue that people are saying something they aren't. Now do you have a response that is based on what people are actually posting?

'Winning'. So far we've won two second-rate cups and a sixth place.

Mourinho has everything to prove still.
So far we've won the best cup you can win when you're not in a title hunt. We lose far less. We score more, we defend better, and this feels like the best start to a season in about 10 years.

«Shocking»

I’m out. Enjoy the game, if you can.
