I love Martial, in fact he just might be my favourite player at the club when he's on form; he's not been on form all season though.
I remember watching him last season and being amazed at his ability and willingness to take a man on and beat him. I remember being at Old Trafford watching the dull shite that Van Gaal served up, but Martial had you out of your seat every time without fail, we've not seen that this season though. I don't know whether it's mental, and losing his shirt number and home problems are messing with him, or if it's simply that he's going to take a while to get to the top. But he's so much better than what we see right now. Just get on that left side and take your man on Martial, feck me give it away every time you try for all I care, I just want him getting me out of my seat again, for a player his age that's all I need from him; a bit of youthful explosiveness.

He plays well when he goes direct at the opposition carrying the ball with pace.

For some reason he hasn't done the above often enough this season so far. I personally believe it's something in his mind that's held him back in the season thus far. Hopefully Mourinho can help him overcome his shortcomings.

Miki didn't improve. He was simply given a proper chance to show his quality.
He was terrible in quite a few of his early performances. Now he's playing extremely well in every game. So obviously hasn't improved? Is that even logic?

He was a big part of changing the game and putting Hull under pressure. Apart from that he played a total of 29 minutes against Bournemouth & So'ton. He was poor against City, but that's it.

The more accurate translation is frustrating not annoying.

What's actually annoying is how gullible people are around these boards. One would think that after knowing how media and journos work, there were definitly some twists in reporting Martial words yet you have your naive average joe buying crap fed by the media and quick to jump on our players.

There is a shiny new toy in Martial's position that has been playing well after early struggles, so of course people are gonna jump on Martial right away. It's the attitude of some fans. They celebrate those who are doing well and immediately jump in those who are struggling unless the struggling player is a shiny toy, then he still gets some time to at least prove himself.

He shouldn't be moaning when his performances have been average at best this season. Get your head down and start working for your place.

He should be at least be on the bench. We brought on the likes of Rashford and Lingard vs Palace who are a few levels below Martial.
We would sign Messi, does not score for 3 games, and we drop him for Lingard, this is how clueless we are.

I don't see him starting this game. I think it will be Lingard and Rashford on the wings.

Loved him last year, but very disappointed with the attitude he's displayed this year. He seems to have a damaged ego now that Zlatan and Pogba have shown up and he's no longer "the man".

Anyone else?

Lingard and Rashford on the wings is as useless as it gets. One can't make a good pass in any dangerous position, the other is so immature with the ball in dangerous position that he fails to even make any decision and will simply run the ball out.

I'll stick with pace less Mata and out of form Martial. Far superior options, at least they have end product and skill if they ever find themselves in dangerous areas.

You lots are really embarrassing.

Was he dropped from the squad or injured against Palace?
Dropped from the squad.

Also there are people saying how can he gain form if he isn't playing? He's played many games this season but has continued to disappoint. Maybe he just needs a little break from the spotlight to get the basics down or get his thoughts together, whatever his problem may be.
He's played games but the last time he played more than two consecutive games was back in September. Been very stop start for him.

Rashford's had a more recent run of starts going just into November. Martial's had quite a few breaks/rests. I think he just needs a few starts in a row rather than dropping him from squad entirely after one game.

Do you think he's had a positive attitude?

Your assumption is certainly ridiculous. He's frustrated because he's not playing well, which every competitive athlete is. I don't expect him to be joyful when neither him nor the team are having a good season.
Aside of that, he's always been an introverted person, but now that things are not going well, people will spin it as a lack of a positive attitude.

Really hope Zidane is watching this situation, what a waste of a special talent.
He's had a horrible season so far frankly, wouldn't get a whiff in that Real Madrid line-up in current form. Still wish he'd start though.

Horrible is quite the exaggeration.

It's not attention seeking, everyone here would prefer he starts over Lingard or Rooney

Indeed, but not everyone would couple it with a wish for Zidane to come and grab one of our most promising talents though.

Martial needs to sort his shite out. Same for Rashford.

Both have been shite

Yeah. Two goals and an assist in his last three matches. Four goals in 16 matches is poor but he's not had a run of games since September so hard for any player to have a huge impact.

He scored two goals against West Ham, an assist against Everton then dropped after a bad game against Spurs. What more do you expect him to do? Score in all?

Lingard has been better than him this season, don't understand about all the moaning here, if he played well and he's dropped then it's okay to complain, but this season Martial has not been playing well, especially compared to last season and I'm sure Jose knows it too ,one of the reason probably is his personal issue with his ex

I think until he sort his personal issue out, then it's right to not start him, hope that being benched will light a fire in him just like with Micky, because we all know how talented he is

His performances have been shite since West Ham and a for a long time before the WHU game.

And you are overplaying the assist against Everton. It was a pass to Zlatan who was stood 35 yards out and lobbed the goalie.

Amazed at how people still allow the media, the football one at that, to plant their nonsense opinions in their heads. Unless I hear it from the player himself, I never form a opinion on it one way or the other. What he said wasn't bad, a little excuse on being young but its true the guy just turned 21, we need to give him time to learn and allow Mourinho to work with him as he sees fit.

Come on, all in all his season has been very poor. Statistics aside, he hasn't contributed and has not done anything to warrant a certain start.

So we just leave him out for the rest of the season?
Has anyone suggested that? As I said, I want him to start over Rooney/Lingard. We will probably see him in the second half, and hopefully he can show why he has to start, because he hasn't proved that so far this season.

It's not as if he started all 16 matches either.

Martial showed why he must start vs West Ham. He has also done great defensively so Mourinho not picking him doesn't make any sense. Clueless management.

I told you he would put on Rashford, it should be common knowledge that Martial is pretty low in the pecking order. But most here don't seem to get that.

Didn't he start only last week
