I don't think it has anything to do with the type of player he is and his skill set. If anything, he suits Mourinho perfectly you would think. It's all down to the effort he puts in and maybe not adapting to Mourinho's style just yet. Maybe being our main guy at 19 last season got to his head, but he clearly could do a lot more on the pitch. Work harder off the ball, be more direct at times, be more confident, don't just take the easy option. Enormous potential and I have no doubt that he'll turn into a world class player. Just hope we don't lose out on him and see him turn into a world class player somewhere else.

Mourinho is a bit rough when it comes to man management with some players but I am trusting him on this one, Martial is still very young and even though Van Gaal might have won him over on his side last year, Mourinho is a new one and the palyer needs to be convinced again as he could easily think he's guaranteed to start after the season he had, every player needs to prove himself in every game, that's the message from Mourinho. Sweinsteigger wasn't working hard enough, Mikhitaryan later, now he's back and the same treatment is now applied to Anthony, if he's not a prick and works hard to get back, we have a worldie in the making but if he can't get on with his mentality, he will hardly become consistently good enough for a manager like Mourinho.

We expected this when Jose was appointed, he'll play a 19 year old striker down the left wing and wonder why he doesnt perform, then drop a player who can naturally play there, and wonder why his form doesnt improve. Reality is, he doesnt have a clue how to handle and nurture young talent and its showing here.

By showing the right attitude, impressing in training, and then impressing when he's finally given a chance in the first team.

He's had a run of games and didn't improve. It's up to him to take his chance when it comes.

Martial is one of the worst players this season. He deserves to be dropped so stop overreacting please.Other players in the same position are working harder and doing more for the team at this moment. Even Lingard scored a worldie midweek. Seems some United fans know how he trains and the aittitude he displays in training somehow. Very similar comments being said that Chelsea fans said about De Bruyne or even more recently Costa and Hazard when they were accused of sabotaging Mourinho.

No, that is exactly what you do when you have one of the most exciting young forwards in world football. We've dropped plenty of points this season and Anthony Martial hasn't been close to the reason why. Particularly when you consider that Juan Mata is the only attacking player to have played anywhere near an acceptable standard.
He has a good cross on him and has pace. This allows him to get sufficient game time allowing him to develop.

Pretty much. I'm also struggling to understand what Lingard's "shown on the pitch" this season or in any previous season to deserve being picked ahead of him.
The problem with him is whenever given the chance he doesn't provide that constant movement, direct focus, and harassment of defenders that you would expect from the player with his qualities.
