Him being out of the starting lineup here and there is not the worst thing that could happen. Still only 20 and seemed to play every single match last year.
As an impact sub here and there, it might work.
 
Mourinho can't ignore him, no way. He needs to drop the 4-2-3-1, and play Martial much higher up the pitch with less defensive duties.

He will always be more of a wide forward than a winger and since he is one of our best players if not the best, we have to change it up.
 
He would thrive if he were to have the same freedom Hazard is currently getting.

I think it's time he stops fecking around now, a dip is predictable and understandable but we're nearing December now.
 
Had a few glimpses of his ability but like all season it's not enough. Bit worried about this 'dip' now.
 
Worried about him.... Hope he starts him in the Europa, he desperately needs confidence
 
Not worried, he was probably overplayed last year and we're seeing the effects now. Should be a United legend if he stays at the club.
 
Needs to work harder and step up soon. Might be second season syndrome, but whatever it is he needs to work harder.
 
Was beginning to stretch their defense and was taken off. Still not good enough. needs to play with more intensity.
 
Signs of life today and should have stayed on instead of Rashford.

Like Souness said, young players will have ups and downs and a lot of the talk about him is unnecessary. He should go repeat that to Gary Neville.
 
He's either having a major dip, or had a major decent spell last season that he's not gonna hit again. Depay would be more dangerous than him at the moment. Obviously worth giving him time though because his potential is sky high
 
Showed flashes. Got better as the game went on. Needs more games.

He will come good. Not worried at all.
 
Mourinho made a point of how excellently he was training. That doesn't sound like a player who is suffering from issues off the pitch or sulking.
I am beginning to think the problem is tactical.
 
After his agent latest comments, it seems he still hasn't gotten over Zlatan taking the number 9 from him, add to that Deschamps publicly saying both him and Mourinho expect more from him. His confidence is a bit low at the moment.
 
Poor again today I felt, especially in the first half. Looked more promising in the second, when he switched positions with Rashford.

He's a striker but unfortunately he's not going to get many opportunities there.
 
Really needs to step up. He's playing like he's half asleep at the moment.
 
Mixed bag. Some good, some bag. Will come good, though. He's a very talented lad. Just needs to get some confidence back, and Jose needs to keep playing him.
 
he wasn't that bad, but his end product wasn't there today, but why the hell we have to play rooney there, shambles from mourinho, he just doesnt have balls to let him sit on the bench, for the sake of playing rooney martial is getting subbed, he looked sharper than rooney who got subbed on for 20 mins
 
Had some good moments here and there but he really needs to assert himself on games more. If you looked at him at the start of last season, he was always on the ball, always direct and knew what he was doing with it, decisive, confident, etc. These days he picks the easy option too often or just doesn't look that sure of himself. Obviously a confidence issue, though I think just sticking with him is the way to go. He'l get there eventually.
 
Wasn't great today, but I thought he looked more threatening than Rashford, who should have come off for Rooney. Had a couple of decent shots after cutting in, he got them out of his feet very well as he was almost standing over the ball. Rashford on the left seemed to keep slowing down the attack he has to stop to come back onto his right, where as Martial tends to do it a lot more fluidly and creates more danger.
