I'd play him through the middle and keep Rashford out wide.
He has that bit more composure in front of goal
He did until the last few games when he was left out of squad/benched and Rashford had a run of starts and scored a few. Rashford currently on 10 goals, 5 assists and with the goal today Martial is on 8 goals, 6 assists though has played 500+ minutes less.Pretty sure he's got more goals/assists than rashers this season.
He might not reach the levels, but is it only me that sees the similarities? He absolutely does not. If you think he has then you haven't seen enough of Luis Ronaldo.
I just think he's potentially a world class striker. He's definitely not ever going to become a world class winger. So basically he has the potential to become the best striker ever? No hype or pressure at all.
Who could we play on the left? Rooney? All of our strikers would be on the pitch at once, they'd be out on their feet by mid May!Why not play them put through the centre?
Tony is like a young Brazilian Ronaldo in his Pomp. The pace the power..
I've said it before, he's got the potential to reach Brazilian Ronaldo levels..
Would love to see him and Rashford upfront together.
Why not play them both through the centre?
And he has. I don't get why people go to such extremes regarding young players. When they don't do well they turn into these abysmal no hope versions of themselves not to mention lazy and completely disinterested.Which is the saddest part of all of this, I don't expect anything of him today.
Desperate for him to prove me wrong.
Tony at the heart of the second goal.
What a performance here. This kid is the best French talent since Serge Gainsbourg.
Please!A 442 with Rashford and Martial is jizz worthy. Make it happen Jose.
Last week an article suggested we run the least in the entire league and Burnley, one of the highest, so we will struggle today.Been doing some googling and discovered an article in the S*n from last October which compares the Liverpool and United team in terms of distances covered. We do really badly, needless to say. Fellaini is the only United player who makes their XI.
What's really interesting, though, is this bit.
That's interesting, for two reasons. First of all because Martial's effort at that point in the season was fecking diabolical but also because both him and Lingard have increased their efforts by an additional 4km/game between then and now, to 9.16 and 12.04 km/game respectively. Which is, at least, encouraging.
He's been more aggressive, making more runs. Jose is getting exactly what he wants out of him.
My theory is that Martial has been effected more by Zlatans arrival than anyone else, as it reduced him from his main man status last year to a side man.
I think he could play in the narrow left wing role Rooney is playing today, with Rashford up top. Especially when Shaw is playing and can make more attacking runs wide.
Well, he certainly is capable of that. LolWhat do people expect from him? To run past 3 players and score a wonder goal? Thought he done a decent job of holding up the play on the left and laying it off when that was the exact thing we needed. Few long balls he took on the chest and kept possession. He will be fine with Ibra out and Rashford through the middle he will come into his own
The last game I was able to attend he started on the left V Watford with Mikhi in the number 10 role and we were brilliant.. HE was brilliant
