Angelo Henriquez

Another goal for Henriquez yesterday in a 1-0 win to help Universidad qualify for the next round of the Copa Libertadores

And another goal for Henriquez his fifth of the season in 9 games looks a very composed finisher

2 more goals for Henriquez at the weekend he now has 7 for the season
His goals are the 2nd and 4th goals

This lad looks fantastic. Everytime I see him I keep thinking of a speeded up version of Ruud.

The second goal was an exceptional finish under pressure at speed.

Does anyone know if our option on the player is genuine?

Looks like a totally different person. Has matured a great deal over the past 12 months.

Looks good from the quotes last year it sounds like we may have some sort of deal in place.

Maybe we should bring him over for next season with a youth team looking like it's going to have a lot of creative and talented playmakes in the midfield next season maybe they could do with a stiker to knock a few in the youth cup.

No idea what any of it means, but constantly having us mentioned during the story can only be a good thing

She says that Man Utd have their eyes fixed on him and that they have the first option to take him to England.

Another goal for Henriquez in yesterdays 5-0 win against Colo Colo

This man is having a cracker against Deportivo Quito today. U de Chile lost the away leg 4-1 and needed 3 goals to go through. 76 minutes played they are 6-0, and Henriquez had a great, GREAT game. Really. We should trigger that option we have as soon as possible.

We actually do. Commentators during the game were constantly reminding viewers that we have the first option on him.

And how are you sure? Other than the fact that your pessimistic about everything?

Wtf?

Just pointing out that what papers say is usually made up or bullshit.

And I am pessimistic because I am saying we don't have an option to sign some 18 year old I have not even seen play and am not really a muppet for signing random decent players by just looking at youtube videos?

You weren't just pointing that out. You said you were sure we dont have an option despite having no grounds to knowing such a thing.

Considering there is a photo with him standing next too fergie with a utd shirt - i would say that is proof enough.

Two words - Adem Ljajic.

Though I have no idea if our reported 'option' on this player is genuine. There seems to be a hell of a lot of conjecture around the matter at the very least.

How many goals did he score?

I highly doubt that we will sign him until next year if the option lasts as long as reported. Logically we should see how he develops for another year.

We have no option on him I am sure.

Of course it is amazing that a team like Manchester United have taken an interest in me. They are a huge team at a world level and playing for them would be a dream come true,' Henriquez admitted to Triunfo.

Over to you.

You are just adorable you light up my day man.

Two years later, in 2009, Manchester United and Universidad de Chile signed an agreement to purchase the rights of Henríquez, for €4m, which can be paid until 2014. [1] After the 2011 South American Under-17 Football Championship, it came an interest of the English to sign the young talent for £3m after his good performance in the tournament. [2]

From wiki however

If the 'first option' is set at 3m then why would we sign him before the 'option' ran out? He could get a career ending injury in the next year.

You mean the option that you questioned was genuine in a previous post? How about he would improve our squad why wait a few more years when we can integrate him fully into the squad now? Kid looks talented enough to be in our striker pool with Berba most likely leaving and Owen surely to follow.

I think that indicates that I am inclined to believe that the 'option' may be genuine.

I was laughing at Adam because he thought that the player having his picture taken with SAF was some sort of defintive proof of the deal, which is simply absurd. There is a similar picture of SAF with Adem Ljajic, my point being, at least, don't count your chickens.

Like I say, I think it would be prudent to leave the player, at his age, developing in his home country. Anything could happen to him in the next two years.

I guess if there is a feeling that the player is truely exceptional and he has already out grown that level then perhaps you are right, is that what you are suggesting?

Didn't Man Utd pull out though, so really it was down to the club and it wasn't like he did a Ramsey and chose another club.

The guy who according to Partizan, was on our payroll. Dont think that name has anything to do with someone not being our player. More to do with us not always taking our players into the first team.

Rossi
Pique
Macheda
Petrucci
Rafael
Fabio
Tosic
Ljajic
Pogba

Our 'different way of doing things' in the transfer market of recent years has produced mixed results and that is being very generous. Out of that list of highly rated young talent, for one reason and another, only one has become and first team regular.

Would I be surprised if Henriquez never pulls on a Utd shirt in competitive action? No I would not.

He looks great, no question, but so did/does every player on that list.

None of those players have played to the level that Henriquez is right now in Chile. Unfair comparison.

Pique has twice been voted the best defender in the World. Rossi has hit over 30 goals in a season for a Champions League side. Ljajic is a regular in Serie A. Pogba has Captained his country at every youth level possible. Fabio won player of the tournament at a youth World Cup.

Are you really sure about that statement?
