If he's gone, he's gone. I don't necessarily think it's a tragedy for the club, moreso than it is for him, personally. He grew up here from the age of 6, and was Utd-mad. His small frame is the issue, but rightly or wrongly, he feels that it shouldn't be.
I don't think Ole has been that bad to him, either. He gave him a new number, and he has been on the bench numerous times during the season. Chong has definitely been preferred a little more, but tbh Chong also has the physical gifts which mean he can get away with more.
When he's played however, it hasn't totally come off for him. Astana at home was a ok'ish performance, but he wasn't really impacting the game. The away tie should have been his big chance to impress after being MIA for months, and he really didn't. Personally, I just find it all a little sad. Cos I really do think there's a special player there, and I don't think he'd have got as far as he has done here, at any other club in England. Chelsea would be a massive waste of a move for him. If he is to leave, then surely he needs to go to a team in Spain or Italy, or maybe even France or Holland. The English league in any team not named Utd, Arsenal or City would not be a good fit.
As it is, with the likes of Mejbri and Garner coming through, I think we have talents that are at the very least comparable to Angel in the position he likes to play, and are younger, arguably more secure long-term bets. And even if he stayed, I don't know if he'd have been here long term in any case, especially since we're heavily linked to Bellingham as well, who would be yet another player in his path. Not to mention Bruno and maybe Pogba (if he stays and signs a new deal), who aren't exactly on the cusp of retirement either.
